  • To update this. I’ve now been sent a letter from DCBL - final notice of debt recovery.. should I be worried? Is this the same as “letter before action”. Is this the stage they take me to court if I don’t pay?

Debt collector letter , ignore , disregard !

The statute for legal action in Scotland is 5 years

It's dcb legal ltd who issue an LBC
  • So basically I ignore unless I receive an LBC = letter before court? The LBC would be from legal (not ltd)..?

what are the chances they’ll take this to court?

    Thanks
  • Also what does “final notice of debt recovery” actually mean? They’ll take me to court after this letter? Or will they just persist with further threats.. the amount is £170

Who knows ? Only they do

In Scotland you have different laws and procedures so get legal advice from a Scottish law centre or Scottish solicitor , if you get a formal LBC. I believe that a Scottish lawyer would be involved for the latter , as would your Sheriff court claim system , simple procedures , look it up using Google

Only the claimant can answer those questions , not us , plus this is a parking charge notice forum , not a legal advice forum

You should ignore for now , because none of what I mentioned has happened

None of these letters will lead to a court claim in Scotland, not even a LBC.  That's not the Scottish procedure.

    Ignore.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you. Does “lbc” actually stand for letter before court? Or something else.. is it safe to say I can ignore this unless I get a letter from the legal department informing me of a court date?

    Cheers
