Still in the soap opera. Today's episode included someone nudging my car by trying to squeeze in behind me in a queue. I didn't get out - it was pouring with rain, it was a nudge. Cba. I phoned Dad from work after Barbara had hung up on my colleague. The shame. Tonight Dad phoned me to tell me all about D ringing him. It was me, Dad. No it wasn't. I didn't argue. Cba. And one of my godsons has made the local newspaper for all the wrong reasons. Can't get my head round that.
Anyway I called at PO on my way home to pay the rent, then fell into the chippy next door to the PO and bought my tea. I've brought in the bin and the recycling box that I could lift. DS's dad forgot to come and lift the box full of magazines out for me last night- I didn't ring to remind him. Cba. Daren't lift it myself so it's going to be very full in another fortnight.
Anyone know how to stop the world? I want to get off 🤣

Oh Round you are having a really hard time of it! Hope life calms down soon.
Paid stuff done, Mr T shopping received and put away, 2 loads of washing done, tumbler going. Camping stuff sorted and piled up ready to go in the car. Its cold, wet and dark, more like October than May!10 -
((Hugs)), Round. And to anyone else who needs one.
YL, you are a braver woman than me! I hope that I don’t send our howling wind in your direction, as that’s probably the last thing you need in a tent.
DD taken to appointment at small hospital in small town, then an emergency one at the bigger hospital in big town. In between I have nipped into small town sm with her to pick up some bits for her to take to her friend’s tomorrow evening, driven DH to pick up my car from the garage, driven DD back to small town to meet another friend, and finally will go back to small town to pick her up later. I’m exhausted already.
Dinner cooked for DH and me. DW on, wm running again. He has the washing up to do - I’m not doing it!10 -
Round.. you need to have a word with life.. Tell it to bring it because you won't be broken so it may as well just walk on by!! Sometimes it just needs putting back in its place! As for godson.. we can teach the younger generation the right ways but ultimately they make their own decisions as adults, some they learn from and some they do not. So long as we influencers know we have done right by them they can accept their own responsibilities. I hope it is not too serious and he has learned. And so long a D is not your Jamaican cousin I think most people sound the same on the phone half the time. I can just about make out male from female.. thankfully the phone says who it is lol. Keep smiling... brighter more boring times are ahead. xx
Beasts in bed.. cats asleep on my chair.. 2 torties.. I've had my eyebrows examined 00tgyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (Treacles feet say hi)
DW been on.I have a load of washing on the bed to fold before I cna get in it..pack ups are done
Dot is in bed and I forgot to remind her about her apointment in the morning.. darn it.. She will not like that!
It's glorious out there.. it's like November!!!! You watch there will be a heatwave in 2 weeks time!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)10 -
(((Hugs))) to pigpen, round, YL, Fayolle and everyone else who is fed up with life / the weather / lack of help or anything at all.
Today I have
- woken up at 7.00 feeling out of sorts, which was not helped by the early onset of gales and heavy rain
- fielded a telephone appointment with the Practice Nurse who told me to ring for another telephone appointment with a GP (but that will have to wait until MOndya because I've got to go for a blood test tomorrow morning)
- fielded a one-hour phonecall from my crazy friend S who has forgotten how to laugh at herself
- sent DH off to the surgery to get his BP checked
- made room for the Treasurer's files on my bookshelves; shredded the duplicate scanned copies of bank statements; sorted the contents of the files into an order that I can work with; put everything back neatly
- emptied the shredder bin and hoovered the study floor
- had zzz after lunch because it was so dark and cold and miserable
- went to the local shop and PO
- took Rosie for a walk and managed to avoid most of the rain, but it was miserably cold
- adapted a new recipe from the SW magazine for tea
- herringbone-stitched halfway round the hem of a tunic top which was 6 inches too long for me - this is slow work because it is black thread on thin, slippery, black and white patterned jersey material
- waited for someone to come and collect a Freecycled item, only to get a message to say that they couldn't come tonight after all and would tomorrow be OK? Er, yes - but I have a host of people lined up wanting that item, so if you don't come tomorrow I shall offer it to someone else!

What is the sodding point of telling us that someone has made over £2K selling used crisp bags on eBay?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

That was churlish...I suppose the point they are making is one man's junk is another man's treasure. But crisp bags? Collecting\? ewww....
anyhoo it's cold, wet and rainy. Heating is on. Kitchen cleaning will e a priority as I dropped yoghurt so a second mopping is needed...
Hope you all have a good day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
