I had a lightbulb moment earlier on. Who needs 2 ice cream containers plus various floating bits of birthday cake candles in their life? Especially when they have a “cake decorating” box that is bursting to full? So using the container concept, I decided to empty all the cake related bits onto the kitchen side and only keep what would fit in the box. And it worked! Now this wasn’t the most vital bit of decluttering the house, far from it as it is behind a cupboard door - but it was annoying me that everything fell out when I was trying to reach something else in the cupboard. All I can say is that the baking tins had better watch out, once I figure out what their “container” is going to be. Thank you, HB, for the inspiration x
Wet washing hung indoors. Upstairs dusted. DD dropped at school for the very last time 😢. It made me sad that I was taking her in, when not that long ago, we envisaged that she would be independent and looking forward to freedom and fun, not constrained as she is. Thank you for listening to my lapses x12 -
Afternoon
Got my early meeting done then took a ‘breakfast’ break lol, during which I switched the wet washing in to the TD and set another load going, made the bed, swished over the downstairs loo and the en suite, tidied the lounge, emptied the Dw and folded laundry from yesterday. Then I had brekkie and went back to work!
Now I’m having lunch, wet wash on to the airers plus had a quick walk with DH during one of the dry spells, will try for some more flying after work but it will probably be off list.
Hugs to all x10 -
Snaffled drugs in the hope it can make me vaguely functional.. Moomin cleaned the bathroom so it is beautiful.. OH is messing it up..
Boog was given the job of hanging out his own washing.. if I don't look I don't have to think about it right?
Bevan has the stuff from his room to sort and wallpaper to strip.
I have 3 ebeast parcels to sort but they may be postponed until tomorrow.

A productive day so far. I have
- done everything relevant off today's list, including (drumroll please) cleaning Rosie's nose art off the window. That made me think of LW. Have you heard back from her, pigpen?
- watered the houseplants and fed the orchids
- thrown away a pile of very old microfibre cleaning/dusting cloths which wouldn't come clean in the4 wash, as well as some ancient shoe polish and worn out brushes - fer-ling!
- consolidated matching half bottles of cleaning fluids and thrown out the empties
- sorted the donate pile, filled a rag bag, thrown away ancient printer cartridges given to me by NNDN which don't match anything we have (or anyone else has, I should think), and photographed everything that I intend to offer on Freecycle
- sent DH out to post my letter, buy eggs and milk (again!!!) and get a new rubber ferrule for his heavy duty metal walking stick so that he would stop damaging the vinyl flooring - the replacement was only 99p and he had the sense to buy a spare
- let Rosie out to greet DH when he came home, then inadvertently locked her in the front garden where she was probably sunbathing, whereas I thought she had come in with him. The front gate is always fixed open (so that nobody has to touch the latch, and that's one less thing to clean!), but she had stayed by the house, and we only knew she was out there when DH spotted her tail wafting past the raised bed while we were eating lunch. She was very pleased to be let back in and graciously accepted a piece of ham from him and Camembert from me as a reward for not running off
Now I need to do some admin work...8 -

Iona, no response yet but honestly I'm not really expecting one. LW may pop by to say she is well but I think just knowing we care about her and miss her will help her BD. I will let you know if I hear anything at all..
OH sent alone to get the children.
Pain meds have not help, but I daren't take the other lot, I will just go to sleep if I do.
I need to go put DS2's room back together so he can sleep up there tonight. He slept in DS1's bed last night so I need to change that bedding before he returns later.
I need some blue curtains.. I've not decided which shade but I may do a round of the local CS's and see if I can pick up a bargain.
Ooooh.. beasties home.. best make an effort to look in the freezer and sort pack ups.

Hello everyone - I had to just pop by, although I can by no means call myself a Flylady anymore, to say a big THANK YOU to all those who took the trouble to send me encouraging messages, and especially to Piggers for actually sending them on to me. They arrived in this morning's post.Unfortunately the flare that started ages ago is still going strong; my hands have become deformed, and my knees almost completely non-functional. I have a rheumatology appointment at the end of July, so hopefully information will be forthcoming as to !!!!!! is going on. I've also had my daily morphine dose and my anti-d's increased.DH is doing 90% of the housework; he does this without complaint, and although not up to my previous standard, I'm cutting him a lot of slack as he has Parkinson's Disease. We're effectively propping each other up!I found out the hard way that if I get on the floor, I can't get up again. Solved that one by DH putting a towel down to protect the carpet, and bringing the bath lift though to the lounge, me scrabbling my way on, and him raising it to sitting position.I have my first canine guest since October arriving on Thursday; I can't wait! Hopefully Cookie the Staffie will see off the wretched BD.DH and I have both been Pfizered x 2, good to get that out of the way.I don't often get onto MSE at all these days; what little I can do takes a-g-e-s and by the time I'm done, it's time for dinner. But I couldn't have such bad manners as to not come and say Thank You; you've really made my day, folks.I'll try and stay in touch if I'm allowed - definitely flying by proxy; and I have a selection of five different hand/wrist supports to choose from, depending on what I need to do, and which joints are the most painful. All tidily stashed in a box on the coffee table.I must sign off now; I've waffled enough, and I need to get on with making a birthday card, which if I leave it any longer, will become urgent.Love'n'lightLameWolf xIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)13
