Just had a quick look at the trustpilot reviews over the last week and they are generally very poor (with several posters saying they had problems even before the riots closed the call centre in S. Africa)

And worryingly a number of posters have pointed out  that the online form says:

" "Do you receive an online discount?" and if you respond "Yes," it warns you that you may lose your online discount if you contact them."

But I haven't yet completely given up the idea of switching to them and I'm going to try to contact them by phone in the next few days to discuss this and other points. If I manage to get through, I'll report back on what they say.

I was with them a few year ago and never had any issue. I was billed on my usage per month and only left on price. Also in those days they had a UK contact centre and again very helpful.

Moving on I have just signed my relation up to one of their fixed tariffs and switching is proceeding very smoothly.

That would be helpful for me as I know I will be looking at switching energy supplier when I move house from the incumbent (Bulb) to one of my choice.

Sending referral links is now against forum rules. Also others who have used them have found they can’t use them to join on the cheap tariffs.
That must depend on the electricity company as to if they honour a referrer sign-up money back or not, as I referred a handful of people to Green Energy and those are still being paid fine. Perhaps some others don't...

    Month 3:
A bill a day keeps the doctor away.........

Submitted readings *definitely* within their window.
I've now had 4 bills so far (3 today and counting)

They're all within 1p (the previous bill's gas estimate keeps going up then down, and the sums change to match).
The *final* figure does appear to be accurate.

The billing / meter reads system is quite clearly a total and utter disaster zone.

I'm in 4th month of my faulty gas meter saga which morphed into faulty newly installed electricity meter. Both meters were replaced with smart meters, gas is reporting ok to the website, I'm waiting for recalculation for gas bill since March 2021.

In the meantime, electricity meter stopped working after 7 days. It was dead for 2 weeks, now came up to life again, but then went dead. I'm not sure if PfP is doing something to it remotely or it just came back by itself. So far, 2 weeks of free electricity, while it was out. It never reported to the PfP website and doesn't show any tariff, like it wasn't properly configured.

I moved to PFP at the end of June.
Setup a direct debit which I assumed was setup correctly as it shows on my bank account.
Just spotted an email in my junk folder - PFP are threatening me with late payment charges for not paying my bill which was due last week.
I knew it was due as I got *that* email for the bill, but I assumed that the payment would be taken by direct debit.

Just my luck that I checked my junk folder after 20.00, when they are already closed for the day.

Anyone else had DD issues with PFP?

The issue was caused by the failed switch from Neon Reef.
When there is an objection to a switch (for no reason other than NR playing silly games), the new supplier (PFP) have to reinitiate the switch.
The PFP system cancelled the switch including the DD (but it was still listed on my bank account from the 'first' switch), so they set everything up again except the DD.
As the second switch was successful, there was no DD setup so nothing was taken for the outstanding bill.
I've now setup a new DD with PFP for the second switch.
I also let them know they should fix their processes and not send threatening letters to new customers that have done nothing wrong.
  • Though I’ve not had any problems with DDs I too find emails often end up in spam. However their online account is quite good and I regularly look for emails there.

Anyone having issues getting a bill from PFP?  I switched over on 15th July, had two direct debits taken but still no bill.  I keep going through their 'very' slow chat or email and keep getting told they process them manually and have a backlog. I was toldend of August, but as of today they have given me 5 days for them to sort it.  Not good enough
