I'm on the Green November 2021 fixed tariff. I shall have a look at the T&Cs again. They certainly haven't been badgering me to change meters. Might be because I have my gas account elsewhere and it's only economic to change both meters, where appropriate.

Just today, I have had a (postbox) mailing, with a "refer a friend" offer. £50 to each of you. No small print to say it must be dual fuel. I have been with PFP for 5 months, electricity only, and religiously send in my reading, within the 3 day window, with the reminder email, just prior to the billing. I can view the bill on line, a few days later. I recommend this company.

I emailed PFP Energy asking if it was compulsory to have Smart Meters fitted and they have sent a reply back stating you are not compelled to have a smart meter fitted.

I am therefore going for  PFP Energy which is the cheapest tariff in the cheap energy club for me.

Good luck!    It might be an idea to check the T&Cs and tariff details in your welcome  letter ( which tends to end up in Spam).  If you set up an online account you can check your welcome letter there.

Only applies to fixed rate tariffs which are a lot more expensive via £50 link than if sign up without £50 link

Orbit Energy pulls the same trick.
  • I just tried signing up to pfp online. Provided bank details etc. The online signup failed and I got a message saying call a number and they would "happily" sign me up over the phone. Called the number and was told that, as they had had a lot of such messages today, they didn't have the resources to do any sign ups on the phone? So then why ask you to call? I was told to try again in a few hours, but as this is pretty sensitive information (bank details for DD etc) I am really reluctant to proceed. Not a great start?

Switching to them currently, quite shocked to get a reply back to an email within 3 minutes, very un-energy supplier like!  probably a fluke, time will tell.
