NatWest Online Banking WARNING

My Natwest current accounts are just two of my 3 dozen or so current accounts across a multitude of providers. I am certainly not in any bank's fanclub - not that such things even exist. I do like, however, that Natwest are paying me £72 a year for doing very little, and that they give me access to a nice Regular Saver account, worth another £14 at least. These amounts may not be attractive to you but they are to me as they contribute to a near 4-figure sum I am receiving each year from current account providers. And no, I will not share any more information on how I achieve this.Rosa_Damascena said:Talk about NatWest fanclub.
I can't see the attraction myself.1 -
First Direct appear to have a fan club voting them at or about the top of annual surveys. If anything, NatWest has the opposite, with detractors wherever you look.colsten said:

However, if they keep paying customers for doing very little, they will continue to thrive.1 -
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
Sorry, but I really couldn't be ar$ed to read through all the posts.
I've never had a problem with their online (computer) access.I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left. Tom Waits0 -

An update on my issue with NatWest available funds and pending.NatWest have informed me that some of the pending s drop off if not claimed by merchant within a set amount of days but then reappear again when merchant reapplies them. So I’ve raised a complaint as myself and others are getting caught out by this. They informed me that Tesco pay at pump and Aldi are famous for this and any online gaming sites. So reverting back to pen and paper from now on to keep track as online banking not accurate due to this issue0

Not sure why you think a complaint to Natwest will change the way retailers report their pruchases.skev69 said:An update on my issue with NatWest available funds and pending.NatWest have informed me that some of the pending s drop off if not claimed by merchant within a set amount of days but then reappear again when merchant reapplies them. The issue you have is that you are using a bank account as a budgeting tool. They have never been designed to be that, so it isn't surprising that they don't work as that. An awful lot of people do think, however, that they could/should use their bank accounts as budgeting tools.5 -
You really do miss the point judging by your patronising response. They’ve agreed that it can be misleading when the pending amounts disappear so suggested that the complaint procedure may help to look into this issue. And just to add, I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that my available balance is exactly “that”. I never thought that pending could just disappear then return days latercolsten said:

Skev - I see who appears patronising. It isn't Colsten.
I'm very happy with the Natwest app.
You are not.
The clue's in the word 'pending'.
If no matching completed transaction appears in what you consider a timely interval, YOU make the query.
