Have a lovely trip to Scotland. Quite a journey from your neck of the woods.Dh and Ds went to see Bond last weekend - I have never watched more than 10 minutes of any of them…..I really can’t get into them. They said they enjoyed it but wasn’t worth all the hype.
Your hair sounds lovely….👍……worth it if it makes you feel good 👍January spends - £587.582 -

Thank you everyone. 😃. I had it done last Wednesday then had to go back on the Saturday for a complimentary lesson on how best to wash, condition and dry. You must wash your hair at least twice a week so I'm going to have my first go on Thursday evening as we're out tomorrow night.@Sun_Addict - DD's firm has stated that everyone has to attend the office now at least twice a week rather than WFH full time as has been the case since lockdown. So she has had to return from Scotland though is planning to book advance rail tickets so that she can go back for long weekends - she can work on the train so it will be the equivalent of WFH. Needless to say she's not happy about it but it can't be helped. She was having a WFH day today and also having the carpets and ovens cleaned so I went for a walk into town to have a mooch as I haven't been here since the year before the first lockdown. I was pleased to see that although a few shops have since closed down due to lockdown there is still an abundance of them. The town was busy and the cafes and restaurants were doing a good trade. The weather was cloudy but not too cold and although it tried to rain, it kept off so was good mooching weather!

I had brought two of my dress watches up with me as they both need new batteries and there is a good little place here that repairs and cleans designer watches. So I was pleased to see it had survived the lockdown and I am picking up my re-batteried (if there is such a word) watches tomorrow.I also bought my family Christmas cards now as Clinton's had a good stock in. I had already bought the non-family cards back in January in the sales so all the Christmas cards are done and dusted!I treated myself to a nice little lunch in an Italian deli/cafe place that has opened since I was last here. I had a delicious little cheese platter with a good glass of red and finished with vanilla ice-cream with shots of amaretto and espresso! Yum!😋. There was also a new little Greek takeaway I noticed so bought some baklava for me and DD to have this evening.
And the above has led me to Slimming World! Those of you who have been following my diary are probably wondering how my Slimming World journey is going. I lost 8lb in total when I last weighed in two weeks ago. I couldn't go last week as I had the spa day with DSis and I'm now at DD's for the next fortnight so won't weigh in again till I go back. If I keep the weight off I will be more than pleased as I don't think I'm going to lose much whilst I am up here!🤣Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thank you @in_need_of_direction @milann and @Onebrokelady!😃
Last night DD made dahl and rice for dinner so we ate this whilst watching 'Call My Agent' on Netflix. I had already watched the series and loved it - I had told her about it but she hadn't caught up with it as it's the sort of thing her OH wouldn't like so she tends to wait and watch these things with me.This morning she had a text from the local water company in that they would be turning the water pressure down or completely off during the day while they're carrying out works. Just as well we managed to shower before it got turned off!We had soup and bagels for brunch and will have something light soon as we are out for a late dinner tonight. I'm taking DD to her favourite local restaurant for her belated birthday meal. Funnily enough it got a nice write-up in the latest Waitrose magazine that arrived today with the groceries.I've been researching local cleaning companies online for her while she's been working. She had been about to sack her last cleaners one anyway just before Covid as they were getting more and more lax and they weren't particularly cheap. So I've made a little short list for her to look at.MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
Apart from the meal tonight I bought a rail ticket online for Friday as I'm off to visit another Northern city to meet up with two MSE friends for lunch. I'm really looking forward to it!😃Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
