Thank you for your good wishes @milann @beanielou and @in_need_of_direction - I am alive and well and haven't melted as yet this year!😃
Apologies for the lack of contact - I have been meaning to post but things happen and I feel I have to write a humongous long post as the days go by!😩 Recently I've had my first theatre day out since the first lockdown, and decorating has been done among other things. So starting from tomorrow I'm going to be very, very good and post each day, updating as well on the different things that have taken going on since I've been away from my thread. The weather was rather mixed today in Seasideville and things were quiet although I finally had a telephone chat with my ex-boss as he's back from a couple of months abroad where he's been staying at his other home. He was well and it was good to speak. I popped out for a walk this afternoon and post an anniversary card on the way.I also ordered two black bras and three pairs of nylon footsies from M&S - the footsies were on offer on a 3 for 2 basis, which was good as I needed them - one pack of light nude, one pack suntanned coloured and one pack of black. However I don't know what's going on with M&S lately as there are hardly any styles available for bras in my size. I like wired, non-padded bras but I could only find two styles - one was awful - looked like a reject from some 1950s catalogue🥴! I've ordered two from the other style (the last two left!) but I'm not sure what they will be like though - they're pretty but the straps are really thin and I find wider straps are more comfortable for me. So they might be going back!
This evening I made a quorn chili - I realised I didn't have quite enough quorn in the freezer though so chucked a tin of sweetcorn in to bulk it up and accompany the beans! Needs must! It was nice though, I had it with some whole meal rice and I've made enough for the next couple of dinners.MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
Apart from the bras and footsies, I sent a M&S e-voucher to a friend to relay to her daughter who has just had a baby.I'll be catching up on diaries over the next few days as I've loads to read! For now I'm recording the new series on Sky Atlantic called 'The White Lotus' which looks interesting and so I'm off now to have a butchers!😃Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

So good to hear from you, I was wondering how you were. Green lentils are a good sub for quorn, very meaty looking and good to bulk things out.Don’t leave it so long next time wags finger 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

So good to hear from you.

Good that you are busy enjoying the retirement 👍
I so get what you mean about M&S and bras……I’ve had the same style for years and loved it……but it is no more. I actually need to go in store and see them in real life and try some on. Can’t be doing with the hassle of trying new styles and returning if not suitable.
Will look forward to your updates 👍January spends - £587.583 -
Welcome back! You were missed 😊 Looking forward to the daily updates x3

Thanks very much @Sun_Addict@beanielou @milann and @BalanceBy50 😃.
SA - that's a good idea about the green lentils - I used to have a few tins in the cupboard as they're already cooked so will definitely stock up on my next big shop. 👍
milann - I used to buy my bras in the store when I was working as the M&S near my firm was quite big so they always seemed to have plenty of stock to try. However since the first lockdown the styles I like have seemed to have disappeared both online and in-store. Hopefully things will begin to get better now. ☹️A grey muggy day here today. I went out this afternoon to run some errands, put a light jacket on and sweltered!🥵. I dropped off a Hermes parcel (see below), took some of little nephew's outgrown clothes into our children's dress agency, bought a diffuser for a friend's birthday present, bought some fruit and Heinz vegan mayonnaise (trying this as a change from the Hellman's vegan) and picked up my shoes from the cobbler (again see below). This evening I had a good old natter on the phone with a MSE friend and ordered my Senior's Bus Pass on line so I can now travel into our local town for free! I've also ordered a rail ticket online as I'm up in London tomorrow for my hair appointment and to have lunch with a friend. The ticket was free as I'm still using up the loyalty points I received from my now redundant season ticket!😃
CLOTHES UPDATE
I had a Marisota delivery arrive this morning - I ordered some straight leg jeans to try - dark denim and black - instead of my normal skinnies. Basically I didn't like them - I felt fat! So back they went this afternoon. A plus point is that I can now return Hermes parcels at their drop off point at my local corner shop which has made life much easier!😀
So instead I ordered some skinnies from M&S - tencel denim fabric - darkish wash - only £19.50. I never tried these before so I though I'd give them a go. I also ordered a rather lovely faux black leather tote bag which I read online is apparently a dupe for the Mulberry Milli tote bag. Only this was £39.50 instead of a zillion quid for the Mulberry!😆. I needed a new black tote as my trusty Longchamp nylon tote has bitten the dust and I thought I'd try a new style - again cheaper than buying a new Longchamp.Over the last month I have bought some new shoes. The story of my feet is one long wail!😩. Over the years they have widened so I now have to order shoes in extra width. I also have to order boots and court shoes in a size 9 now instead of a 8 as I have developed strange boney bumps on my heels over the past few years. And I don't think that over a year mostly wearing comfortable trainers since lockdown has helped.I have tended to buy most of my footwear from Marisota these days - they do a large range of bigger extra wide shoes and boots which are reasonably priced. However although I think their long boots and sandals are good, I have found the quality of their court shoes has deteriorated over the last few years. However I have now found a great website that sells excellent quality wide fit leather shoes and boots in larger sizes - I ordered a pair of beautiful black suede not so high courts which are a really comfortable fit. They're not cheap - over £100 but for the first time in I don't know how long I have found shoes that are beautifully made as well as comfortable. On another note I recently bought some sandals from M&S that were a near exact dupe of the classic Chanel sling backs with the block heel in beige soft leather with the black toe. Only these were £39.50 instead of a mortgage down payment! Plus £5 at the cobblers to have them stretched a bit width ways!😃
So I've decimated the clothes budget but these were all things I needed and I won't be buying anything else for quite a bit. Yes the courts were expensive but well worth the outlay to me and I'll probably save up for another pair.MSE SCRIMPY THINGS

Nothing beats decent shoes that suit your feet.
I spend a lot on shoes in relation to my income but dont really grudge it too much (apart from the fact they get tatty so quick) as shoes that suit my feet are worth their weight in gold
