Your time away and celebrations sounded lovely.
There is so much sadness attached to the violent crimes that are taking place everywhere with a lot of youngsters. It’s a very sobering thought indeed……I’m sure a lot don’t realise the consequences when they are fuelled with adrenaline (and goodness knows what else😳) and are acting the big guy in front of their friends. Like you say - totally different to your experience in The Highlands 😏 I feel like my very old aunt who had a favourite saying ‘what is the world coming to?’ 😲😲I am now older than my very old aunt 😂😂😂😂 who seemed ancient when I was a nipper 😂😂

Your time away sounded lovely and you seem to have had a busy time since you came back too, I love getting out to socialise now and I think I appreciate it more having not been able to do it for so long. We had an similar stabbing down the road from my house a few months ago. I live a a nice city that is usually quiet but lately these incidents seem to be increasing, it so sad 😟

Wow!  New forum format!  At least it's not so different as when MSE changed the last format!

Thanks @beanielou @milann and @Onebrokelady - my seaside area, together with the larger resort down the road, has always been a day trip magnet for those living outside the area which is excellent for local businesses. It's always packed at weekends and holidays when the weather is good but lately we've been experiencing large groups of teenagers expressing anti-social behaviour - and now with the added problem of knife carrying. It's not just those who come in from outside - the three boys involved in the stabbing were local. The police are uping the ante but they also have to deal with the same problems at the larger resort so resources are very stretched. ☹️

Anyway I got my hair done yesterday - it was a shame that I could not meet up with either my workmate friends or my other friend who lives in the East End - one is WFH as the office is closed for renovation and the other had a hospital appointment.   Afterwards I went to the local big Boots to buy my Clinique toner and Roche-Posay face sun protector which I love as it's 50 factor and tinted therefore so much lighter to wear than foundation.  There is also a wonderful Italian food emporium opened close by - I had to go in and have a look - it was a food lovers paradise!  I had previously visited its parent emporium when I visited Turin a few years ago and could have happily spent hundreds then! 🤣 I was very good though this time and didn't buy anything as I'm trying to cut down food wise and even managed to forego the wonderful Italian bread!😋

It was so hot out though - I kept trying to keep to the shade- I caught a taxi from the station on my return as I couldn't  face the thought of climbing the vertical hill in all that heat!😰🌞

Today I was meeting my friend for coffee but she called me earlier as sadly her brother passed away. He lived alone and died at home so there will be a post mortem as to cause of death.  So awful for her and her family as he was only in his 60s. ☹️

Yesterday's spends were hair (he threw in a free conditioning treatment), Boots buys (I had a £20 gift voucher that I got for my birthday so that cut the cost - Clinique were also doing an offer whereby I could choose one of a variety of full size products so I chose a bottle of facial cleanser), and taxi.

That’s sad about your friend’s brother. Also sad to hear about the stabbing, what’s wrong with these teenage lads, don’t they realise how serious it is to take someone’s life.

    Thank you @beanielou and @Sun_Addict

The weather has been awful today - teeming with rain nearly all the time. I decided not to bother going out as it was so dismal and wet.

So I did the housework and this afternoon read my book.

Still undecided whether to watch the match.  I hate watching England play when I'm on my own - I get really nervous and almost want to go and hide in the cupboard when it gets nail biting!🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿  Anyway even if I don't watch I'll still hear the noise from outside if they score!  DSis has posted a photo of her the family Signal group - she's wearing an England shirt with a red and white hat with horns!  I really don't get the horns! 🤣

I touched base with my plumber who renovated my bathroom and kitchen and he is coming round on Monday to price up a few jobs I need doing in the flat - I need new shower heads on both my large shower head and also on the hand-held. In addition there is some grouting to be done to freshen up the bathroom and a small crack in the bathroom ceiling. I want to get these jobs done ready for when I put the flat on the market.

Nothing else to report - it was a NSD.

I’m really not a football fan, fed up of the Euros already and we’re only one week in. Mr SA watches every blooming game no matter who’s playing 😩
