That feeling of getting back into your bed is amazing.

Hope the pension forecast is a lovely surprise x

I don't know where the last week has gone .

Had a great trip to the big garden centre with my friend last week , she bought a few plants . I came home with nothing. We had a lovely lunch and she paid, I drove.

Two mornings in work, quite a few of my team were in again and it was slightly more noisy than past weeks. My counterpart and I were in to meet our boss for a catch up again, we managed lunch at our on site cafe outside in the courtyard area.

I had a trip to DDs Monday to see the grandkids after work as I had been out with mum and dad last week celebrating their wedding anniversary. Little one has found his voice and is a pleasant little baby at the minute.

Thursday brought news that my mum is having an operation in 2 weeks on both her feet. I had booked leave the following week as we were going for a break in the lakes but that's cancelled now and I will be around instead to help dad out with caring for my mum.

We have also cancelled another hotel booking for august. It cost £100 in lost deposits but can't be helped. The operation is unlikely to be cancelled as its at a private hospital. Anyway I haven't lost any money as they had paid.

Thursday was also grandkids sports day with no parents in attendance , don't get me started on that.

I picked them up today and they both had a team medal from sports day.

The weather looks like rain forecast for the next 10 days, the cricketers are playing tonight which is unusual maybe because of the weather forecast.

Monday I have a day off to go to the new RHS garden just a few miles away. Meeting friend for lunch first and them going round the gardens.

The weekend will be spent catching up on housework and checking the finances . My car is due for its MOT in a few weeks so need to contact mechanic and get it booked in.

We had a wild flower garden planted this summer in front of my flat , it's looking lovely. Will see if I can post a photo.

Oooh enjoy the new RHS garden….we’ve said we will wait until next year then join RHS when the garden shows should hopefully be on again.
Hopefully your mum will be better for the op on her feet. Pity the holiday had to be cancelled.

My DS and DIL weren’t happy about not being able to attend their kids sports day 🤬 Time we got our lives back and learned to live with this virus now.

It’s so annoying when you see the football fans hugging and coming out of their bubbles when a goal is scored…..yet children can’t have their family with them.

I agree about sports day especially with the sporting events taking place. It seems one rule for one and another for the rest of us. Hopefully next year.

Had an overnight visitor DGS , he came mid afternoon yesterday and we went trampolining . Very enjoyable if you are 7 not if you are nearly 60 with a weak bladder 😂. Anyway i survived it with no disasters . Off to McDonald's to eat in, never seen so many delivery drivers in one place. Home then for 7.30 to watch England. He slept until 9.00am so no complaints from me.
Have been for a long walk in the warm rain this afternoon , done the ironing mountain and then watched Bridget Jones's baby again.
A NSD the first of the month . Tomorrow is the RHS garden , have raincoat and brolly at the ready .
