Hi all
Just having a snack before my meeting for my PT job. Toni'sfriend - i couldn't do a skydive either i'm really scared of heights.
Calling - envious that you live near Llandudno; i love going there and have been many times - often when it has been dry and sunny
NSD 2 for me. Been busy at work and had pasta leftovers for lunch. Had a walk with DD2 this morning before she went back to uni. Been dry and blustery this afternoon and have got 3 bath towels almost dry on the line.
I've never seen Star Wars!!

May Day! May Day! I’ve still not got a NSD!
And my job evaluation review has been postponed until Thursday.
Focusing on my health this week after weeks of poor eating. Went for a walk before OH and DS awoke this morning and ate fairly healthy today and drank lots of water.
Grateful for a semi-dry day, a fresh early morning walk, and good colleagues.

I'm a bit late to the party but would like to join again. I am much better at reading along than I have been at posting.
I love llandudno and I can't remember it ever raining when I've been there, it is I guess possible that I visited in a parallel universe where it was raining somewhere usually sunny instead.
Its been a long day at work today (in fact it seems like a long month) we've got the year 11's finishing assessments on the 17 May but they're still in school until at least the end of this half term. We've been told to teach them something we're passionate about! I don't think four lessons on world equality are going to go down very well and not having access to my food room means I'm not feeling the passion about the subject any more than they are. A year and a bit of theory only lessons is enough for any of us. It might be GBM on the lesson plan.
Some gratitudes: the MrP did a lot of heavy lifting and digging work in the garden so I could get some things planted, that I had the money available to pay for two ceramic tooth caps (fascinating process, combination of 3D CAD and a milling machine) and gaining some free time at work tomorrow while the year11's write assessments. (no exams have not been cancelled, they've been renamed assessments and left to teaching staff to do)Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Meals planned for the rest of the week, small shop done (sub £20) to fill in the gaps, so I should not need to buy anything else (I have money put aside already for an anniversary new car tyre on Thursday) until the weekend. Sticking on NSD 2.

Porridge-could you do a mini series on money management? How much money do they think they need to earn to be happy?. What types of mortgage there are? What do they expect to earn? How much utilities cost? If going to uni, repaying the loan? I've also had interesting discussions on what they reckon they need to be happy in life, pensions, travel...Today I am grateful for a really good counselling session, for bracing winds but no damage done, for seeing my kiddie neighbour at her window and catching up on news about her broken ankle, for a good book, for a lovely long hot bath.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Good idea that @apple_muncher. Hmm I will think seriously about that, we do loads on work contracts in the course in year 10 so I could bring that into it as lots are starting to get part time jobs. It'll beat healthy eating with no practice hands down (the suggestion I got from SLT)Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Walked with hubby to the village (2 miles altogether), was surprised how easy it was to post the box of books to Music black & white bird. Sold two things on eboy too. Happy days! Posted some more items on there for selling. Got my sewing machine out & made a bear from a stripy wool cardigan. Just the hand stitching to do now. Got quite a bit of knitting done in the evening.
Great idea about teaching money life skills, not everyone has family who do this 😊Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Cinco de Mayo Day
National Teacher Appreciation Day
National Astronaut Day
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's victory over Napoleon III's (nephew of Bonaparte) French forces at the Battle of Pueblo on 5 May 1862. Mexico had borrowed a lot of money from European nations in the preceding years. France came to collect and wasn't willing to talk it out. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated much more in America than in Mexico where any celebrations are limited to the state of Pueblo. The American festival centres on Mexican culture and eating Mexican food and drinking margaritas (strictly no sombreros). In the 1960's the celebrations began in cities with large Hispanic populations. Activists also commemorated it as a metaphor for the victories of indigenous people over arriving colonists. In the 1980's the marketing departments of two large breweries pushed it into the big time.

How to Stay Positive in a Negative Situation
Questions to ask yourself
1) Is this worth getting upset over?
2) What is the lesson here? What can I learn from this?
3) Am I overreacting or overthinking the situation?
4) How is this making me a better person?
5) What is the positive I can take from this?
6) Can I control the situation?
7) What can I do right now to make myself feel better?
8) How can I see the situation with love?
