Yesterday was NSD No 10
F0xh0les - A local restaurant or cafe? Clearing tables, helping in the kitchen or something like that. My friend says that around her way (a tourist area admittedly) they are absolutely crying out for staff. It is hard work but that's no bad thing.
Did a bit of tidying yesterday but not much was disposed of but at least it's all organised now. I think the only toiletries/cosmetics I'll ever have to buy again is shampoo. A bit more to do today. The dreaded drawer that Himself hides everything in to begin with and then I think I might be totally ruthless with my wardrobe. I do not need all those coats and jackets.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Morning turtles.Quick post for me as off work this afternoon and weekend starts early.Got my hair done yesterday and even went for highlights to make it look warmer, bits of red. Gave me a boost I needed.Nothing planned for weekend, got gkids staying but want to watch the FA cup final, so they will have to have play in their bedroom time, enough toys been moved in.Hopefully today will be a NSD and I can get a walk in before rain hits this afternoon.Grateful forNice bubbly chat with hairdresser yesterday.Getting my washing done this morning before work, not that I could hang it out.NT - rang as sent my renewal through, I can now get it for £54 a year as over 60 and had 5 yrs membership in last 10 years. £18 saved not a lot, but it all helps atm.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/227

@f0xh0les since they are both 16 and 18 they are old enough to do jobs. They just need to do the rounds in local shops, leisure places and pubs, there might be some hiring going on at the moment. Use their hobbies - friends as well, different places and people use all sorts of channels to hire. Total jobs, indeed, local facebook groups and twitter. Good luck to them, it is not easy - a lot of museums and organisations also have activities for young people this summer, it might be worth checking with the council.
Grateful for ds2 last day of school ever - can't believe it!
Grateful for a quiet day with my students and looking forwards to a celebratory burrito later.

Weather has changed and my mood has lifted. Not very mobile and felt overwhelmed by all the things that 'need' doing so sat making lists (outdoor jobs, things in town, at my house, shopping needed and everything else). Plumped for going to town and doing what I can. Phoned for a taxi and took the walker so have deposited more than half the charity shop items. Went to Wilko for various diy bits, washing up gloves (only a single in the cupboard), sticky labels to help with the filing. Bought a meal deal from B**ts (sorry but it was nearly 3 pm and I hadn't had lunch) and medical masks for mum as she finds those easier, decided in favour of buying my puzzle book rather than going to put money in the bank and everything else can wait for another day. Ate my sandwich on a bench in a quiet part of the bus station (nice little outing altogether).
Put the washing out on the line before I went and locked mum in so she didn't do anything daft - she's ahd two days resting to recover from chair gardening (she chopped all the daffodil leaves off but I didn't bother arguing about it) and is feeling a lot better today so normally she starts charging around and then is back to square one. I'm back on the bed, stretching my back, waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in, will rest awhile then tackle the filing if I'm not up to anything more strenuous. Will tot up figures later (quite a bit of I owe mum for abc, she owes me for xyz) and still have to do the plastic tat order.
Grateful for reducing the amount of stuff to go to the charity shop, a good afternoon, achieving quite a lot when i didn't really feel up to it.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Evening turtles 🐢 it's Friyay! Even though I'm on call tomorrow but still!
Can't claim a NSD today as sorted my travel insurance for my Iceland trip in July (5 whole pounds) and also needed veg for the rabbits. Got some milk and bread while I was there, popped both in the freezer.
Busy day at work but got everything done that needed doing which is good as I'm off now until Thursday with the exception of being on call tomorrow.
I also checked my 0% credit card that my car debt is on and turns out I've completely miscalculated how much I've paid off and have actually paid about £750 more than I thought! Super happy with that, this month's payment will take me well under £1,000.
Grateful for a good workout this morning, unexpectedly lower debt, and some time off work coming up.6 -
Today I am grateful for finding trainers and sandals at a reasonable price, for time with dh, for the stress-relieving properties of a good gym session, for not having to pick up dd from school, for sharing the evening's driving with dh so I'm now in my jamas.

Still on nsd#9, needed to buy milk. Also bought a new phone (the same as I got hubby last month). I've had my current one 5 years & it's starting to play up a bit now.
@mothernerd, I love Keeping Faith. After watching that, I've decided to introduce more colour into my wardrobe. Managed to get an emerald blouse, emerald cardigan & a lovely orangey/peachy coloured cardigan too, from the charity shop last weekend. I've had lovely compliments this week when wearing the cardigans.
Grateful for great friends & colleagues, being given a bag of books (it was like 🎄 looking through them all), that my working week has finished, sharing the joy of a colleague's first grandchild being born this afternoon, & a pint of Woo woo!Use it up, wear it out

Friday- yesterday was a NSD so I'm on 8.
I feel like I've spent the last few days constantly "doing things" and having to be very organised to be where I'm supposed to be at the time I'm supposed to be there- this was my daily life pre lockdown but I've got used to a more relaxed schedule 😂. I'm sure in a few weeks it will feel normal again.
f0xh0les- a bit of an unusual suggestion for you- one of my friends brothers in the summer after leaving school/pre-uni worked as a bin man, made decent money, paid holidays and got "kept on" as a relief guy so he often worked in uni holidays. Might be worth them contacting gardening businesses who might take on temporary workers in the holidays. Any local national trust properties or similiar? They take on summer staff around here. If they need an "incentive" to write/distribute a cv or contact people I would be pointing out they need to "work at home" if they don't get an outside job.
lcc-ask for the reduced hours if you think it will help, my worry (as others have said), is you still work "extra" hours so end up no better off. Could you give yourself a set time (a month or two) to make a real effort to stick to the hours you should work and see if that's better for you?
Grateful today for time in the sun with the pony, a chat with mum friend in the park while the girls played, feedback from school that DD was very mature in her input to a behavioural issue in her class.10
