lcc86 said:@ditty1234 @ldee2111 part of my thoughts behind potentially reducing my hours are to have that time for appointments or to just de-stress and relax, and strangely I think I'd find it easier to have that cut off. I find it hard to explain properly, I apologise. I definitely do need to be better at switching off when I should, or if I have a late meeting (post 5pm, which is often!) I need to say no to an early meeting on the same day as that's what tends to mean I work extra hours. I'll make the commitment now to only working my salaried hours while I ponder the situation a bit more!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Had to come on here to vent. My boss is still being a tool and not telling me when I will be made redundant. Fuming to say the least. My boss instead of sending a email to HR, re another employee sent it to me by mistake, we do have the same name, girl in HR and me but contents were re another employee's redundancy notice. So I jumped down his throat, hopefully meeting next week to discuss my situation. After 19 years I think I am owed that.Other news hair appt day whilst I still can afford it today.Lad I used to see split with his gf, do I want to meet up? Not sure great idea to be honest and as he is 12 years younger than me will go nowhere, unless he is going to act as a carer for me and I don't have the energy to cope with toy boy ;-)Grateful forStill smiling,Chill out in haridressers later. This thread and you guysLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/228

NSD 8 ! Doing so much better than last month already. Now I need a bit of Turtley wisdom here please. I have just found out that DS1 and DS2 break for summer on the 28th of this month. DS1 is 18 and DS2 is 16 and a very important 3/4s. I do not want them lying in their beds for 3 months when they could be working (the ideal situation) or volunteering (learning how to be useful members of society whilst talking to anyone who is not me). Any suggestions? apart from them sending their cvs off to agencies now so that they have them before term ends and everyone else does the same thing. Many thanks.Volunteered all day, I have money left over in the budget, the fridge is still full of food, things are good.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

That’s awful @Calling14. I hope you get some clarity from your boss soon. Very unfair to keep you in the dark.
A lot of running about today. Did a bit of work, drove DS to gran’s, home to do a bit more work, drove to Covid appointment, dropped into shop on way home to do a quick top-up shop, stopped in at post office to post letter for OH, home to do more work and worked on until 6 to catch up.
Yesterday was NSD 3, not a NSD today.
Grateful for Covid vaccine, grateful to all the folk helping to rollout the vaccine, for the beautiful birdsong at 4am this morning!NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6 -
@ditty1234 I like the sound of this revolution! My line of work does make it tricky sometimes (social care/probation) but I do need to be better! Logged off on time today as a good start, but had to work through lunch which was not so good. Room for improvement still.
NSD number 8 I think today. Went for a walk this morning and a swim just now. One more day at work then 3 days off woo hoo!7 -
@f0xh0les - could they volunteer in the foodbank? - or would you not want them where you volunteer? Some CS will take volunteers sometimes from 14 as short term - several here do for DofE volunteering. Then there's the NCS (?) thing - although the application dates for that might have gone - and may only be applicable for DS2? Shops like Mata1an have summer staff (and maybe even then stay on as weekend and holiday jobs) Some opportunities will be missing/ in short supply because of c0vid - staff aren't going on/ taking holidays as much this Summer - and others won't be possible as it's the school holidays (eg: my DS1 volunteered at a Cub scout group)
Been MIA as too tired from work to do much else. No idea on NSds.
Thankful for a replacement parcel arriving undamaged (present for my mum), seeing friends last night and eating (their) bday cake, extra hours at work (will be worth it come pay day!), heated airers for wet washing!!!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -

Nsd#9, whoopee, best I've managed for a while!
Sending hugs to all those having issues at work, & hope it gets resolved soon. I'm absolutely shattered this evening, think my first week back at work has caught up on me now. Did a bit of knitting whilst watching TV, now off for an early night.
Grateful for selling some books, seeing a friend who is clearing her holiday home up here before heading back to England, hubby doing well with his treatments, & that it's nearly the weekend! (& payday 😊)Use it up, wear it out

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Sorry for going awol. The rain is affecting me badly - been dressed in my painting clothes all day (so feel like a bag lady) but not been able to get out for painting or digging or put my washing on the line. Feels like things are slipping out of control and descending into chaos (surrounded by paperwork which falls roughly into 3 categories - stuff which comes monthly and only the latest copy needs to be kept, stuff that is not needed until someone dies and stuff that needs to be kept for an indeterminate amount of time but needs to be accessible. Anyway looking at things positively
1) Pill lady came today with a supply of the pills I asked about at the doctor's last week. We now have an adequate supply but what I wanted was to make sure they came at the same time as all her other pills - so that I don't have to chase up if they don't come, receptionist, doctor, pharmacy and either pill lady or me don't spend time on one item.
2) Brother is improving. Now only needing oxygen at night. He thought he might be being discharged next Monday which put niece in a bit of a spin (stuff she's been trying to sort for months with him not co-operating is now all needed urgently) but his nurse says it will only be the end of next week providing he continues to improve. He's even decided to give up smoking. However he will need full time care (not sure if this is for a while or permanently) and adaptations will need to be made.
Niece isn't sure whether to take unpaid leave (usually applied for months in advance) and how this will affect her service/ pension rights ie does she go back to the bottom rung of the ladder/ lose what she has built up. Does brother go to his home or hers. His needs a thorough clean/ declutter and painting/ improving. She had a spare room until a few months ago but it has now been turned into a home office.
So she has a meeting with her trade union rep tomorrow to discuss her options and I've given her details of the specialist cleaners (do hoarder cleaning and end of tenancy cleaning) which helped her a lot - she will go to his house at weekend with a friend (he's like Sonic the hedgehog when he's cleaning) and assess the situation, save the stuff brother wants to keep (Mr Flexible all of a sudden) and then call in the firm to blitz it.
3) Mum is unwell. This shouldn't really be a positive but it's so much easier. She's mainly tired, slept at a funny angle and hurt her neck and throat, slept sitting in a chair for part of the night and hasn't got dressed today. Probably overdone things but she's not arguing or finding fault
Gratitudes - lovely food and took one of mum's veg broth's from the freezer for her lunch, hopeful I can divide the filing up and getting it back in the box (metal tin filing box - one each but hoping to file everything in one), watching Motherland series 3 and Keeping Faith. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6
