Tuesday- NSD 7.
Work, then an online "meeting" for one of DDs clubs- was a good meeting tonight lots of laughter. I will be very glad when the meetings all go back face-to-face.
Grateful today- for living in a village where people pull together and help out when needed, for steps forward (even if they are small steps), for home made biscuits.6 -
I am here. Things are a bit stressful. Keep ignoring the marking and the work surrounding the marking.
Am grateful for Mum understanding that I was geniunely ill when I got home. Fish finger sandwiches. Running water. The dogs and my best friends.

A busy day! A good day at work, then a trip to the dental surgeon to be told I need my bottom wisdom teeth removing in the next 3 months 😐
Washed the dishes after tea & sewed a bear together. Enjoyed a soak in the bath with my book, then watched How to Save £1k & did some knitting. Have heard lots recently about The Tightwad Gazette, had earned some gift cards for the long river place, so treated myself to a copy.
Grateful for a pupil giving me a flower he'd picked, a hug from another pupil, hearing our islands are moving to tier 1 from Monday, & the Swallows have arrived 😁Use it up, wear it out

NSD No 8 yesterday.
Idee2111 - Moscow to Beijing! That sounds amazing but I fear a little too adventurous for me. I have to organise Himself wherever we go and it can be a bit of a challenge at times.
I've been tidying cupboards and sneaking things into the bin (recycling and rubbish) when Himself isn't looking. I honestly cannot believe the things that he hoards. I found a whole drawer full of shirts still in their wrappers. He doesn't even wear shirts ant more. He must have had them at least since he retired and that was 12 years ago. Got a plan for some of my stuff today. He can't complain about that surely. And after I finish my tea I am about to pluck up the courage to defrost the freezers and look in a kitchen cupboard which I know contains his stash of pickles, chutneys and other jars of who knows what. Sneaking them out is a bit more difficult. He seems to remember every one and where he bought it. Wish me luck.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Turtles I need some advice! I should probably post this on the employment board but I just prefer sticking to the turtle posts if that makes sense!
I'm struggling at work, I work in public sector and the workload is high, I'm stressed all the time and my back seems to flare up when I'm stressed. I always work over my hours and struggle to take the time back. I've asked for an OH referral to talk about my back and I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to cut down my hours from 5 days to 4.5 days a week. I earn decent money but still worry about a pay cut even though I've managed on far less!
I'm not registered disabled and I don't take sick days because of my back (tbh I'd be off sick all the time if I took a day off any time it hurt, but I probably should listen to my body a bit more) so am wondering if my employer would even consider allowing me to reduce my hours. Anybody got any experience?5 -
lcc86 sorry I haven't. However working less hours pay less tax, NI so monetary wise may not be that much worse off. Look after yourself first. I have back problems and have to go for a walk lunchtime so I am unable to sleep with lower back pain and sciatica. Good luck

Yesterday was bra measuring day eek. So hot and sweaty trying on lots of bras in small changing room with a mask on. Worse part looking at myself in mirrors there, omg made me get a stir fry for tea and get the bathroom scales back out. Anyhow try and reduce my food intake, exercise bit limited by old knee injury which is flaring up at the moment.NSD including today 7/20Happy forFootball team winning the PL.Nice lunchtime walk along the seafront.Yummy boiled eggs for lunch really bright orangey yolksLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/226

lcc86 i work in the public sector too. I think from your personal perspective then definitely go for it if your employer will agree. What they will likely want is to know how the shortfall will be picked up by you doing less hours. Do you have any solutions you can offer when you raise it? Where i work there are loads of varying work patterns and the public sector seems quite flexible from my experience. Good luck !LBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Sorry, no advice here lcc86 but - nothing ventured, nothing gained! Fortune favours the brave! Haaai Yah! (Miss Piggy).Today was NSD 7 - lunch was quorn dinosaur shapes (dh requested them - man-child!) with leftover roasted veg salad and all the leftover salads from the fridge. Supper is a biryani. All from stores. All food for tomorrow accounted for, so fingers crossed for another NSD. Should be able to sweep some budget excess across to the cc tomorrow night.I am feeling exceptionally bored by being the ultimate in frugality, luckily I have food in the house, a stash of pure tat to read, and The Sewing Bee tonight, and I tipped DH off about a male sewing bust on a stand in the local c/s for £25 so he is a happy little sandboy tonight as it costs £95 new.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
