Its the formula I am interested in, how they are converting to the retail price. You can see from those figures at first glance, 12/24 seems to have moved back in the right direction.

Telegraph_Sam said:One could say that now is the worst possible time to switch since this "locks in" the price rise and excludes the consumer from any correction downwards later. Assuming that current price levels as they are won't become the new norm for the foreseeable future - correction - for the next 12 months.
I have switched to EDF's 12 month fixed offering without cashback. That way, I have no exit fees and should things turn out better, I can always bail without penalty. It did work out cheaper for me compared to what Octopus was offering with their fixed deal and it is also MSE's suggested cheapest fix as things stand.1 -
There’s an additional factor in all this for those receiving payments for the export from solar panels. Octopus are paying 15p per unit exported, which is still, I believe, way above what others are paying. Tempted to switch the electricity away from Octopus, but this needs to be factored in to any potential saving.1

Is it true that you can only get your export credits from the co that supplies your electricity? The arrangement I have splits generation and export. Not simple. Relic from the days of FITTelegraph Sam

I haven't checked the small print of their current EV tariffs, but it wouldn't suprise me if it's already in there."It is impossible to "access the energy within the batteries" via a normal home EV charging point. Your statement is entirely without merit.Yes. It's literally impossible to extract DC from an EV battery and feed it into the grid using a conventional home charger or wallbox. The necessary hardware isn't fitted.BargainBear said:... we've already established that earlier on in this thread.BargainBear said:Octopus wouldn't offer an add on tariff specifically for that if they couldn't.BargainBear said:I've also just laid out the sections of their various tariff T&C's proving that they've written in to them that they can access and use the energy within PV system batteries.BargainBear said:...as well as electric vehicle batteriesBargainBear said:... it's just not worth it in the long run.Everyone else in this thread will be pleased to learn that I'm done arguing this point.N.
