Electricity down again tomorrow - from a weekly high of 27.64p/kWh, on Wednesday, to 20p/kWh for Saturday.
Unfortunately, next week isn't looking too promising...1 -

I've spent most of today mealtime trying to figure out the logic before opening the topic up to readers of this thread. Unless it is simply a matter of saving the gas man-in-a-van from clocking up excessive mileage ..
One interpretation is that Octopus want all customers to go smart for both fuels. I am smart for electric only at the present time.
This doesn't explain if and why my gas arrangements should have any influence over what my renewal options are for electric. I could for example switch my gas to another supplier.

The smart meter or not theory doesn't hold - to see a list of 'all' tariffs one simply puts in a postcode, it's not linked to one's account or address.
[And even if it were linked in any way, one would still expect one's current tariff to be on the list somewhere, whether current or historical. Which is not the case for me, the only version showing is Oct 24 still.]0 -

Weird.I take that back, if I click "load more" enough times I do get to see Oct 24.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

The "gas smart meter" theory is just what they told me, my understanding of.
I think there's a limit on the no of load-mores that the system permits. "Tracker" is a bit like shopping @ Aldi.Telegraph Sam

Just out of interest I checked the rates for Eastern -gas, Oct 24 is better than Jul 24 but both about 8% more expensive than Dec 23. I wonder if Jan 25 is going to be much worse than Oct 24.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Unless it is simply a matter of saving the gas man-in-a-van from clocking up excessive mileage ..This is correct, you need to have a smart meter to join Tracker. Probably the quotes you see are dual fuel automatically? perhaps if you calI Octopus they can offere you alternatives not requiring smart meter?I was referrring someone to Octopus and their options were switch Gas & Electric or Electric only which I thought was odd as you can obviously have gas with one supplier and electric with another. They actually just wanted to switch gas and keep electric with current supplier as that was cheaper.0
