So far, my conclusions were that Agile is mostly marginally cheaper for us but I didn't want the mental load of checking prices (and still being mostly roombound limits opportunity for proper discussions with the family).
However, I'm also going to start checking Cosy over this higher priced blip to see how it compares. I cannot see us staying on Tracker when our term on Dec 23 ends, unless the Jan 25 version is significantly closer in formulation to Dec 23.
Agile is still looking to be the likely option for us from Feb, unless anything else looks competitive enough.
I would perhaps have potentially considered one of the Tomato tariffs, but from other members' experiences they're not yet proving themselves competent!2 -

Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Tks for the interesting comments. From my side I have found that for several weeks now Dec 23 has come out marginally but consistently (over the various time periods) cheaper than Agile, contrary to what I would have expected. My daily consumption is skewed somewhat to avoid the peak periods but without going into a conscious amount of load shifting. Agile would seem to be the "obvious" least worst choice come mid Feb 2025 but it is interesting to consider alternatives. I would never have thought of looking at Cosy - is this tariff not for high load shifters, EV owners and the like?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Cosy is for heat pumps. Although I have no idea whether it works particularly well with running a heat pump, I'm purely looking at costs.0

Looking for a dual tariff. No solar panels, battery storage or EV.
Was on the Dec 23 tracker which was consistently below the flexible tariffs. Have just moved house, and the available tracker tariff, Oct 24, is quite a bit higher, and has exceeded the flexible and fixed tariffs in recent days.
What do you recommend out of Flexible vs Oct 24 Tracker vs Agile vs 12month fix (either with Octopus or other provider).
And if I should switch, when's the optimum time to do so. Thanks

Anyone know if what Octopus have said below is correct re moving Electric away from Tracker but leaving Gas on Tracker?"Thanks for getting in touch! When switching away your electric, this means that we are no longer authorised to collect the data from the meter. As gas smart meter data passes through the electric meter, this means that we won't be able to access the data for the gas consumption.Kind regards,Emma P 🐙Community Management Specialist"
Seems odd to me as I have had my Gas on Tracker with Octopus since March 23 whilst my Electric was with BG until Dec 23 but they could still read the Gas meter and bill me correctly (I also had Gas separately with other suppliers before Octopus whilst Electric was with BG and again no issue).0 -
Pretty sure the gas readings go to the Comms hub which is on top of the electric meter. They don't go to the meter itself.
Either they've got it wrong or they are trying to simplify it.
If it worked before I can't see why it wouldn't work again.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0
