Also, if there were to be a DFS event what day would it be?Yes indeed - I'd be very happy with that :-)Tomorrow's Tracker prices are published in a number of places, but for some reasonI can't see them in my Octopus account online. Is that because they're not there, or am I missing something obvious?I'd be interest to know what everyone's preferred source for the next day's Tracker pricing is and why? Also, has anyone tried to create a spreadsheet to predict the pricing for the week ahead based on these emoncs.org charts and if so how good were your predictions?0 -
I agree with Masonic's general thoughts on "focusing" whilst acknowledging MultiFuelBurner's links - new to me personally and very helpful. Inevitably in a thread of this nature there will be borderline cases and it would be counter-productive to call in the Borderline Police on all such occasions. A testimoney to its success as is are the almost 400 pages of correspondence >> If it ain't broke ..
The forum is a tool to be used rather than a master. Contrast that with a contribution that is really off target where re-routing is called for.
It would assist in this 1. if MultiFuelBurner's links were more widely accessible on an ongoing basis. And 2. if the thread actually in use ("active") was made explicit:- I am replying to an an email alert / notification, but there is nothing to tell me like now which particular thread I am paddling in!Telegraph Sam

Here's the link to the website that shows the above chart if that's what you're asking for?

At risk of further inflaming moderation tensions
, I'd be somewhat surprised if a DFS live event was called tomorrow, but it may be a good option to drop in another test, or perhaps even one of Octopus' own internal sessions that were alluded to. I'll be interested to see the Agile pricing for the peak period, once released, which will give further insight into the potential squeeze on those hours tomorrow.
Edit: Agile peak around 40p, so not at the 60-70p levels seen in previous DFS live events.1 -

My understanding is that this chart shows just the influencing factors not what comes out of the sausage machine in the form of a price prediction? Or for that matter a price history?Telegraph Sam

Yes - this chart is just showing expected demand for electricity across the grid and how much of that is expected to be generated from wind and solar. As a general rule, when a high proportion of the demand is met by wind and/or solar Tracker prices are low and vice versa which is why it is of interest to Tracker users here.

If you're interest to see historic Tracker prices you can see them here:These are for East Midlands but you can find the prices for all regions on the same website.

And these data will be taken account of by the sources that do the prediction number crunching referred to in your previous post?Telegraph Sam

Presumably yes, but I'm not sure if this has got to the stage yet where predictions have gone beyond "educated guesses". I'm not aware of any online prediction for Tracker prices and as far as I know what's happening in this thread is that folks are looking at the emoncs data and historic prices to guesstimate future pricing over the next few days - hence @MultiFuelBurner post earlier this afternoon inviting comment on this.
