  • Just sent in my meter readings for my gas and my bill was generated today. So on Gas Tracker V3 I was charged 9.81p per unit from 30/11 until 9/12 then 6.25p per unit on the 10th and 11th December. This gives an average of 9.19p which is then discounted by 4.22p per unit for the energy price guarantee

So just under 5p a unit net.

Interesting, but also confusing as that's not how I interpreted it working when they sent the e-mails just before October.

I was thinking I needed to send a reading (electric) just after midnight tonight anyway, so it'll be interesting to see what comes up in the bill.
  • When it went over the cap last week the bill is charged at the full amount then a discount is applied which brings it back down to the EPG. My caps are 40/11 so I don’t know what happens if it goes above EPG +17p/4.2p

    The comments here are confusing.

There is no discount on unit rate if its under the cap, I get charged 9.84p max for Gas, unless your taking into account the £67 but you shouldn't incorrectly state it brings the unit rate down as this is going to cause people to start contacting octopus if theirs isn't shown on the bill.

It looks like it did on the details someone posted from their bill though.

That's the incorrect one though, the tracker rates already take the subsidy into account.

This is how it's supposed to work:

If the daily rate is over the EPG they apply a discount/reduction to take it down to EPG.

But neither 31.46p or 9.76p are above the EPG prices?

Strange - my Octopus tracker V3 bill doesn't explicitly show any Energy Price Guarantee reduction. The daily rates charged are already inclusive of the EPG, e.g. at the moment my tracker cap is 40p for electricity but I never get charged more than 35.06p (which is the regional cap for electricity in Eastern region).
