Wholesale electric price for tomorrow is over double today's. Monday blip, or the end of cheap unit rates? Guess we'll find out as the week unfolds.

Well weekends on agile normally dip nicely but this weekend they've been pretty much pegged at the cap.
So I'm going to wager that it's the end of cheap rates as Europe is cooling down...4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0 -
Looks like there's very little wind blowing for the next week or so. No sun, no wind, dull and dreary. Prices are definitely heading up

Do you think the "why is my bill so expensive because wholesale is cheap" lot will notice that?QrizB said:Spoonie_Turtle said:Wholesale electric price for tomorrow is over double today's.Electricity in tomorrow's 1700-1800 slot is £1 a kWh (£1000/MWh) at Nordpool!
They're so keen on paying day-ahead or spot prices for everything after all.2 -
I don't know what formula they were using to calculate Agile rates on the newest version but that would have been the cap hit already, without EPG intervention.QrizB said:Spoonie_Turtle said:Wholesale electric price for tomorrow is over double today's.Electricity in tomorrow's 1700-1800 slot is £1 a kWh (£1000/MWh) at Nordpool!
When they sent the e-mail about how the EPG would work on Tracker, I interpreted it to mean that with the 55p cap and 17p discount, the maximum unit rate for us would be 38p. But today, when the full price would have been above that, ours is 35.06p - the EPG rate for our region. I could cry with happiness, that ~3p/unit saving will be most welcome over winter.1 -
33.03p in Yorkshire. It’s only the second time since EPG was introduced that we have hit it. What would it have been today without a price cap or EPG discount?0

~46-48p depending on region.Griffindog said:33.03p in Yorkshire. It’s only the second time since EPG was introduced that we have hit it. What would it have been today without a price cap or EPG discount?
That's funny, the previous instance of hitting the cap for you didn't happen for us, it was still under the EPG here.0
