The devil will be in the detail, but you could treat Go like any other multi-rate tariff and set a cap where the day and night rates are weighted. Current weighting is 42 night : 58 day, so Go at 7.5p / 40p works out as an equivalent 26.35p/kWh, so a little below the current cap.savers_united said:Even the likes of fixed EV tariffs, the latest version of Go have a peak rate of 40 odd pence but off peak of 7.5 - 8.25p, how do you square those tariffs if the SVT rate ends up at around 35p,

I'm assuming Octopus are the only company to do Tracker and Agile-type tariffs? The updates on the gov.uk page don't make anything an awful lot clearer for us, other than knowing what the SVT will be if we want to go back onto it.

The information about unit rates is starting to come through from government. We expect to get finalised information over the weekend or on Monday. We will then work through all the data we have, and expect to start contacting customers with what this means for them, and their new rates from the 1 October, at the end of next week.

From the home page (not dashboard), the link in the yellow box. I agree their blog is extremely hard to navigate!Chrysalis said:

Ok thanks, I think I will clock out for a while given we not going to hear anything solid for a while, but for those on agile 2018, I think if they include the discounted SC in the maths to decide if its cheaper than the new SVR it might actually be deemed cheaper.Spoonie_Turtle said:

10 units day usage.
Agile £3.71 Day
OCT SVT £3.86 day
Depends how many units usage is used for the calculation.

My average import on Octopus Agile since new meter install 9th June is 0.53kWh a day, as I have solar but that will obviously go up over winter. The low SC has been a good saving for me. Hard to try and fathom if/how Octopus will change the rates or cap.Chrysalis said:

I just logged in to my Octopus account to be nosey. The Tracker box is showing an error and if I click on "change tarrif" the page is blank. It looks like Octopus has turned off these parts of the site. I wasn't going to switch tarrif, just being nosey.Anyone else seeing that issue? Perhaps they are trying to prevent the crashing of the site if everyone were to try to switch to SVT when they are working on a solution for reducing rates for everyone.0

The Tracker error has been there all weekend. It's a relatively common occurrence, a software glitch when the gas pricing data on Friday for the weekend is unclear. Someone at Octopus will fix it in the morning.Northern_Wanderer said:I just logged in to my Octopus account to be nosey.
