Iona... every journery begins with a single step.. you will get there.. keep on with one thing at a time.Fayolle.. I did that year before last with a couple of half dead orchids, 3 cala lilies and a grassy thing. The grassy thing too an age to die. My daughter (is now 26) had 2 close friends at high school and they went to school very haphazardly and with no real indicator of when they would be there or not.. they just needed the company of other young people and their friends and some normalcy and routine. I would be the same with the cottom wool, I'm like that with Twinkle who has a heart condition and Boog with diabetes and DS2 with his learning difficulties.
The 2 plants have been decimated.. I took 2 large cuttings off the begonia and put the root ball outside, I think I may be able to get 2 more off it in a few weeks.. and put the cuttings in water to root, if they root I will repot. The money plant I can take about 25 + cuttings from it. so I have a basket thing I used to wash the lids from the baby beakers etc in so I will put some stones in the bottom of that and stand it in a tub of water (ice cream tub) and put the cuttings through the holes and when they have roots they can be potted up and I will put them on the farm table near school where residents can take them. I am going to take one of each to OH's stepdad. The plants were originally his sisters so I think it might be nice for him to have them. The orange tree I put outside.. yes I had an orange tree in my house! I need to prune the second camellia, the one I hacked to twigs a few years ago is beautiful this year, the straggly one doesn't even have flowers. This is my kind of gardenning.. OH faffs about with soil and fertiliser and I'm a 'hack and see if it dies' kind of person. He kills more than I do.
So instead of 2 very large plant pots I have a coffee jar and an ice cream tub on the window sill.. no soil! It is much less cluttered already
Today OH still have the car and the fish to clean out.. he now has the plastic tub/cereal cupboard to sort and the kitchen windows to wash.
I need to clear the third bit of worktop in the kitchen and I am seriously considering borrowing my mothers front garden next time there is a local yard sale to get rid of some gibble. I have all manner of stuff to fling. Embroidery hoops anyone?? Aida?? I don't even do embroidery yet here they are!!!
I need to vacuum the front room, it got tidied but not vacuumed yesterday.. I have a few ebeast parcels to get sent. Boog went to pick up prescriptions yesterday and ony got a single part of theirs and half of mine.. They didn't even give Boog the insulin.. apparently the computer had thrown a wobbler and they couldn't access files to see if there was more.. I said.. erm.. insulin.. I knew I should have gone myself but that doesn't teach independence!
OMG!!!! Hazel used the litter tray..... This is unheard of!!! Let's just hope more than her feet were in it!!!
After school I am bringing DD1's beasties home and she is taking Spam for a hair mincing.. Unfortunately it is school picture day today so he will look like a mop.. but it was the soonest they could fit him in and he refuses to let anyone else touch him.
I have aggravated my RSI in my left wrist so I also need to dig out the wrist splint before it is too bad. If I let it heal now it will be ok in a few days, if I continue it will be agony for weeks.. I learned my lesson!
ooh new ebeast bid.. weird how that happens when I mention it. 4 paid, 1 to pay and 4 more with bids.. I might get some more listed tbh.. see if I can clear a bag. I have posted 2 large shopping bags worth yet I haven't managed to empty 1 bag yet! .. how does that work? This money is buying the next size school shirts for Squeaks last term. I have put it off this long but I realised that Pixie will need that size come September so I may as well just buy them now.. so I did.
Cuppa and clothes and hayfever drugs before I do anything.. I woke up with my face stuck to everything.
So.. list..
Kitchen sidesvacuum front roomebeast parcels/ maybe some listing
rejig water bill payments.. I changed the monthly amount I need to pay and forgot to adjust the standing order so I paid £20 more than I should have.. I will take the hit, readjust payments and update the standing order today.. I am such a twit sometimes!! I could really have used that £20 today but it is my own silly fault.
If I can be bothered I might fling some twinks in.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Good morning!
Thank you ladies for the listsit is very much appreciated.
I have caught up on the thread. Hugs to those that need them, especially Fayolle, ASB, YL, Iona & Round. I hope the eye appointment went well Round. Be kind to yourselves ladies.
I have been busy - but mainly in the garden. Sowing seeds, potting on, etc. I spent a few glorious hours at the allotment yesterday in the sunshine. It was lovely and quiet, and I took a picnic lunch. When I got home DH had spent the afternoon watching TV and playing piano/guitar. He had said that he was going to sort out the very large box of CDs that is in our bedroom. We have so much stuff - I don't think we will ever get rid!! When I got home I got the bedding off the line, made the bed (after vacuuming the mattress), vacuumed the stairs, landing, BR & LR, and emptied the vacuum cleaner several times!
We had to take grumpy dog to the vets again - he has an abcess on one of his grumpy lumps, so it has been drained and he is on ABs for a week and is sporting the collar of shame. Next week they are going to fine needle aspirations to ascertain what the lumps are.
Today I have walked the dog, set up a play tray with the very hungry caterpillar stuff for the boys, done my Covid test & ordered more, put on a wash, cleaned the litter tray and sloshed stuff down the toilet. I need to empty the DW & restack, The kitchen needs a tidy which I can do while the boys are playing outside. It was foggy this morning, but the sun is out now and it is starting to warm up. I will finish my cuppa first!
Have a good day everyone!8 -
Morning xx
I've been a lazy lummox and didn't get up until 9.30 - because my eye likes me to lie still and does not like me to move around. But needs must - loo and brew were required.
After two and a half hours at the Eye Clinic yesterday being scanned, photographed and examined I'm happy to report still no tear or detachment, but eye is still bleeding occasionally and I still can't see properly with that eye. I go back in 7 - 10 days as they want to keep an eye on me.Straight to A&E if I get any signs that retina is detaching. I've phoned work and said I won't be in until Friday at the earliest - I can self cert for 7 days. So resting at home it is then. Sweetie is happy lol.
Fayolle - a bit of normality is probably exactly what DD needs. Great to hear that she feels well enough to go to school. And breathe xx
ionafan - you are berating yourself for moving one item at a time from the study; I am celebrating as I move one item at a time in my bedroom. How do you eat an elephant? When there is so much else going on in life a win is a win. Even if it's a teeny tiny win. I've not let me eye trauma completely derail me, it's just slowed me down. I was disheartened until I read that you can often learn more at rock bottom than you can on mountain tops. Timely. But I'd like to stay on a mountain top for long enough to make a decent comparison. Just saying lol.
Hugs all round

WUALTD. Breakfast scoffed, pots in DW. Made 3 jellies for packed lunches (MUCH cheaper than buying ready made pots and I reuse my plastic pots with lids so environmentally more friendly, too. I make the H@rtleys Sugar Free ones. I have also set up 2 pots of overnight oats for breakfast on working days. What with that and not washing my hair daily I have more time in the morning and it's much relaxed.
Confusion over whether I am working Thursday - wouldn't normally matter but it's Mum's birthday and I have an Afternoon Tea to pick up on behalf of DD. No way can I nip out during lunchtime to do this - if the worst happens I will ask my friend if she can collect it and drop it off.

Glad your eye's no worse, round. Thank you for the elephant and mountain top reminders xx I have just had a hot shower and managed to un-knot the nerves in my neck and shoulder. And I've put 3 things away. Progress
Other flying will be limited today, but I've got a mug of coffee, courtesy of DH, and I'm about to plant the seeds.8 -
Round, enough is enough, you are officially on FL sick leave until further notice, you look after you and do very little else, once your eye has mended then you can get back to flying etc. Please take care of your eye and you, I am very worried.Bin doneIroning doneHoovered whole house, emptied the bagless thingyFood boughtCar boot walked around, spotted my uncle, (who hasn't been out of weeks and weeks) by the time I had wandered over, he had vanished.Male pheasant and fighter planes being very noisy today, and the road only has about 3 cars a day go up or down it, has been like a main motorway today so very, delivery lorries, builders lorries, Royal mails vans, and so on.Piggers you go for it and have a yard sale it is a good way to get rid, no fees, and people are stood in front of you, generally with purse in hand / great negotiating skills.Off to do some power washing, the small bbq is moldy, cat peed in his box on way back from vets (he has any eye infection) plus about 10 paving slabs to cleanBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Thank you kaz - it's good to be given permission to do nothing except heal. And to know that it's ok to do so.
Had a phone call from my brother to say that Dad has had a fall in town and been taken by ambulance to the hospital. The last I heard he was waiting for triage in A&E.
I am looking for a large stone to crawl under and I'm not coming out until the world is right way up again!
Thursday: bloke runs into the back of my car
Friday: eye starts to bleed; trip to A&E
Saturday: major bleed in eye; trip to A&E
Sunday: Barbara falls on my drive
Monday: back to the hospital for follow up at Eye Clinic: arrive 2.30, leave 5pm
Tuesday: 86 year old Dad falls in town
Good thing that my theme tune is Tubthumping by Chumbawumba!
I had a steady walk to the front lawn and fed the birds. And a steady walk to put the recycling in the bin. That's it for today.
