crumbling shelf unit from shed removed. Oh my HUGE spiders lol - just glad DD isn't here. And waiting for that corner to dry before I roll the cabinet with the freezer on top into that space. Shelves and back now in bin. Also have put lots of jars in the RU box - who knew empty jars were so heavy. Flinging plant pots too...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Some Foodbank paperwork done and the rest can wait until tomorrow.Four boxes of gibble sorted by me, one will go back up to the attic with the things we definitely want to keep, three are combined into two for OH to pick through to see if he wants to salvage any more because I don't, and two boxes of my clothes are on our bed for me to try on and think about carefully so I can ditch most of it. If that goes smoothly I'll then do my shoes. If clothes are difficult then shoes will wait until tomorrow. I think I also have at least one more box of shoes in the attic but they can wait. The bed linen is also going to wait until tomorrow.I explained the Container Concept to Belovéd this morning and that we've had several mugs in the attic for at least 20 years doing no-one any good at all, and that seems pointless. Our kitchen mug shelf holds nine mugs max so I've brought all the mugs down for us to sort through with a view to keeping just nine. He convinced himself that we could have 11 in total, because two will always be in use - I disabused him of this notion. If we ever do another Christmas Breakfast where we don't have enough mugs and plates, which is the only time we need masses, then some of the neighbours can bring their own.If we can't fit all the mugs on one shelf then the whole idea of keeping the place tidy falls apart because putting anything away is difficult; this is not really about the mugs it's about everything having a limit. It's taking him some time to grasp what the fact that there are limits in practice means, although he gets it in theory. He's wheedled one extra mug out of me - which he will keep in his office when he can find it - and I'm pretty sure it's in there anyway. It has a photograph of Devil Cat on it and he still misses him terribly, three years after the little chap died. Some compromises have to be made but at least it's 10 now, and very soon one will get broken because that's what happens, and we'll both be happy.Better is good enough.6

Cars are still dirty on the outside but I have had one walk with the dogs and spent the morning gardening. DH has been to the optician and is currently working through the freezers to meal plan and see what we need on our delivery next week.I'm sitting in the garden under a cloudless sky, reading and sometimes playing with the dogs.Spend less now, work less later.7

Hi all
Pigpen you put so much effort into looking after everyone else and it is totally unfair that no-one is looking after you and trying to help, but I have no idea how to change things because that has been how it has been here since the kids were born, and my family is much smaller than yours. I worry that one day you will just crumble under the weight of everything that you are trying to do x
So, DH wanted to go to the big shopping centre on the outskirts of the big city today. We needed fence paint from Wilko and a few other things. We went into Tesc0 and marveled at all the things that you can buy, it is a long time since we have been in a big supermarket! As DH said there is an awful lot of stuff in here that costs a lot of money and isnt even proper food, I know exactly what he means, I am not perfect by any means but I do try to avoid processed stuff, cook from scratch and not waste food.
Made our own pasta concoctions for tea, mushroom for me and chicken for him, we also devoured a garlic bread. Doggie blankets washed and dried outside, ran hoover around downstairs.
Feet up now. DS left a bottle of wine here last time he visited so I am finishing it off.7 -
Papa Round is not a happy man. He has been moved onto another ward again and is tired of being pushed and pulled about. They have managed to raise his blood pressure...by reducing the painkillers!!! He has managed to sit out of bed for an hour which is something. And someone tried unsuccessfully three times to get blood so he told them to bu$$er off.
My eye is much happier today. Although Boris keeps popping down to say hello.
Decanted bird seed into container. Flung/ recycled ancient Pollyanna video and case.
Every little helps

Glad to hear that papa round has started complaining (which means the patient has regained some GUAG)
Somehow I have managed to do everything I said I would today, except for scattering / planting seeds - but I did also go to the GC and pick up some bargain plants, two birthday presents and a sprinkler attachment which makes watering very much easier and more efficient. I also wrote two quite long emails.
I will now give the glowering ancestors some attention for an hour or so

Round.. if Papa Round has energy to complain he is on the mend!! Definitely a good sign!
YL.. they were told in no uncertain terms I was not happy and they are not respectful nor appreciative and i am not staff and I ask repeatedly for help and no one helps. OH has sorted the area in front of his chest of drawers and sorted his clothes out so I have a buried bed to clear before I can get in it and 2 more piles to get rid of and another pile to boil wash to see if I can get some of the gross marks out of them... so helpful! On a plus note we located Twinkles trainers for school.

I rarely post here- usually to see if Wolfie is around! You may all know via the media about " Full Time" with Tom Kerridge and Marcus Rashford but if not Tom will be teaching marcus how to cook quick, healthy and affordable meals on a tight budget.Once a month on a Sunday on Instagram for a year. For those with no or limited internet access there will be recipe cards in the supermarkets from tomorrow and ongoing monthly. It's to make use of the Govts Healthy Start Scheme for low income families. I'm a lifelong Man U fan and throughout the past difficult year Marcus has been my hero not only on the field but as a young man with the world at his feet who never forgot what hunger , cold and living in poverty feels like and took on a Govt , wouldn't be silenced and won.Tom Kerridge is a great cook and will have recipies that don't need lots of pans, gadgets etc or take up much time. I watched him doing a quick stir fry and Marcus who can't cook and had never peeled a carrotin his life produced the tiniest uniform carrot batons I've ever seen- it did take him some time but now I understand how he eyes up the goal and slams the ball in. At the height of his fight with govt I watched him come off the subs bench and slam three goals into the back of the net and knew exactly where they were aimed.Whatever our circumstances we all want to make the money go round so although my children have flown the nest I'll be watching and they will too. I've volunteered with young care leavers, street homeless and families who've experiencd abuse and if noone lends a helping hand what sort of society are we living in?There is never any shame accepting support. It's why it exists.Sorry for butting in but seeing the last couple of days posts I thought it worth mentioning.I can't remember if it was Round who mentioned the blood sample problem. It would be worth asking if a Burrerfly needle would do the job. My youngest dd is in her mid 30s now and all her life it's been a problem taking blood. They've taken it out of a foot sometimes. She's ECV and when the practice nurse visited to take her monthly blood tests she couldn't get a drop. She came back with a little butterfly needle and that did the trick.Take care all. If you're reading Wolfie I hope you're both plodding on and hopefully have a furry friend or two to brighten your days.pollyxETA. Butterfly needle the fingers aren't good.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.9
