Morning all. Why have I been awake since 4:30?
round, I hope your Dad has had a better night xx
asb you are an inspiration to me. Having grown up with hens in a large garden, I would love to have some again, but our garden is far too small, and I wouldn't want Rosie to upset them (or vice versa). I can send yours a box of slugs and snails any time you run short!
I try very hard never to waste food, though the occasional tomato or pepper slips through the net and I really must get into the habit of checking every day and freezing or making soup if necessary. I'm gradually reducing our food bills, which were never particularly high - we rarely eat out or have takeaways, and if we do DH generally pays - but food treats are my little luxury (generally courtesy of Mr Al or our family greengrocer). Since DH has been on his strict diet, I have cut down on meat for us both, and now that I've joined him in the quest for slinkiness, I've not bought any biscuits or bread, though I can't yet do without my fixes altogether and have still eaten the occasional spoonful of peanut butter or square of dark chocolate, just because it's there. And I'm not cutting out cakes altogether - this week I have to make birthday cakes for my two littlest godchildren (but it's an excuse to go over and see them) and no doubt I shall lick out the bowls as I have always done, and maybe even slip a couple of fruit loaves into the oven at the same time. According to the scales this morning, I have lost 0.7 kg in 8 days! I think we had just got into the habit of eating big meals, and it just goes to show how little we oldies really need, especially when physical activities are curtailed for whatever reason.
Glad to hear your sales are going well, pigpen. Enjoy your landing!
Today's plan, in no particular order:
- WMx2 (towels and clothes)
- water the garden, especially pots and grass seed areas
- scatter wildflower seeds along the drive and sow other seeds in mini pots
- dust upstairs
- degunge the shower mat
- hoover all through
- do a longer walk with Rosie: she's been very bouncy this past week when I couldn't walk far, but my knee is a lot less painful now
- dare I mention the glowering ancestors?
Hope everyone has a good day - spoons on offer xx

Morning xx
I'm up. It's a start. First brew supped and toast snaffled. My bed is made. Dodgy eye is pretty much back to how it was yesterday morning. Boris has returned to his corner.
Second brew required. Then get dressed, feed the birds and put out the recycling.
piggers - you know how to tempt: custard creams are a favourite of mine 😊 ❤
Hoping that Papa Round has had a better night, he is desperate to get out of bed and get moving - physiotherapists are going down again this morning to see if he's well enough to try standing up. At least he is no longer in the room where Mum died!!!!
Have a good day

Morning all,
I hope Papa Round had a good night and can get moving this morning x
HB and Pigpen - thank you for your honest posts x
Wm run, washing hanging outside. Dw now running. Coffee machine being descaled. Sock drawer sorted and tidied as it kept jamming up.It’s a beautiful day outside. DH has gone to my allotment for which I should be grateful, but am unreasonably resentful.
Next job - sew a button on which seems to have been riding around in the wm for a week or so, and I’ve just found where it came from.7 -
MorningBeen out to look at tents, it seems OH wants another one that can go on the back of his motorbike so he can go with his old motorbiking group camping in June..................mantra is you want it you pay for it.............personally we already have 2 tents, (1 x 2 person, 1 x 5 person) I would be making do.Kitchen is donePossibly have a blocked drain, (lots of gurgling in the toilet) so going to take the drain cover off with OH and have a look................there were some drainage rods left in the garage when we moved in, so maybe get them out........I also have a new volunteering job, 2 hours per week, weeding an 80 year olds garden to help her, she has a shed load of tools, and will buy any plants etc she wants, but need weeding done and pots from the front moved to the green house so she can repot them, then put out the front again, sounds just my thing, in walking distance as well, I can pick what day / time I go, once a week for 4 weeks, then fortnightly. She seems a lovely person, but has 2 yappy small dogs, who when you kneel down climb on your back or lick your face, so I have requested they are kept in while I am there, she seems ok with that.Have a good dayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Round.. healing vibes for you all being thrown over the sludge.. I'd bring them but the bridge is closed to people with legs! haha I hope Papa Round is doing better
and can be soon jogging all the way home. It is not nice being a room with trauma memories. I had to spawn Boog in the room where DS2 very nearly didn't live.. thankfully he rallied and did survive but the trauma of that was very powerful at the time, I'm sure a loss would have made it much more difficult.
WM's both re-fed.
Car emptied.. it WILL be clean..
2 more things thrown at Vinted .. I'm not sure I like not getting my money until the buyer confirms receipt.. 1 more ebeast parcel to package and OH can be banished to the PO.
The landing.. oh my days... it is under 4ft of fluff and paper scraps.. my cats shred paper and cardboard .. a lot!! I will wait for Boog to surface and vacuum that.
MY neck is very stiff and painful today.. left side again, but it is my right shoulder I pulled moving stuff a couple of weeks ago.. and the RSI in my left wrist... I'm a bit rubbish today haha.. might throw some meds in there and see how we go..
I need to feed the beasts, and the mogs... get the WM's on.. then make a start on the flinging.. I think sorting the 2 binbags to go is the best thing to be first.
Where did I put the roll of binbags??? it's driving me mad... I know if I buy more they will turn up.
A-HA... a Boog.... now to find Hetty!!

Piggers - healing vibes received with tales of flying over the sludge and people free bridge. Thank you ❤
I've cleared a bag of bubble baths from my bedroom. Bubble bath is now in a cupboard and bag is being used as a bin bag. Split gift bag also binned.
Every little helps 😊

WUALTD, maiden emptied and away. My washing has been out and dried, I now have DS's...they have no TD, no outside area to line dry and don't want to put the heating on - fair enough. It will dry and smell lovely...
I am also emptying the shed; the cardboard jam jar box got wet, so they need transferring. This means I can put the vast Really Useful box in there (84l) to store jars. I have returned the soil spiky thing next door along with a jar of rhubarb and ginger jam *fling* and DiL took 3 plastic buckets of cat litter that were in the shed. *fling*.
Run moved onto patio. Run shelter and hutch cleaned, now airing.

After my meltdown last night..OH has tidied in front of his cupboard.. unfortunately most of the stuff he moved is now ON the bed so will have to be put back so we can go to bed tonight.
I have a bag of parcels to post and a bag of foody bits we won't eat to drop off at my mothers..
