Not wishing to thwart your plans, but I understand that no alcohol is currently being served at the Heathrow lounges.
Just as long as it is by the time I use next use them in July!!

By the way, I'm with the OP on this one. BA have about the most flexible booking policies in the business right now, and their prices are very competitive (I grew up in an era where my first flights for years were bucket shop charters with Monarch, Britannia etc, because BA was far too posh and expensive).

Pretty much a risk free punt with small deposits at the moment if you know how to work it...

Incidentally OP, while gold is a nice extra with its slightly better lounge, extra Avios, free economy exit rows in long haul... silver gets pretty much all I'd ever need, and is a lot easier to maintain! Now if you told me you were shooting for GGL, then I might be impressed  B)
My thoughts precisely , never be a better chance.

All that is well and good, but where do BA fly? Cuba, no (unless you are James Bond); Ethiopia, no; Kalmykia, no; Togo, no; Philippines? So what's the point?

Well chaps I could be about to fall at the first hurdle....

NI Executive announce that Hotels will not reopen until May 24th - day we are due to leave.(Arrive 21st)

I have checked and my Belfast HI Express is closed and not taking any bookings until said 24th.

My second trip to Dublin is borderline as well. Due out 1st June, hospitality predicted to reopen May 29th.

I would have done Jersey as they open from April 26th but are using the same zones breaking UK Countries into virtually County Level and I can't take the risk I might be amber in their system.

It's a European odyssey funded by my cancelled USA trip to try and enjoy myself.

BA do fly to quite a few places !!

The list of UK entry points to their network is pretty weak too.  There’s no way I’d start a short haul journey with a 2 hour road/rail journey unless there was no other option!

Luckily I live close (within an hour) to Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports.

Depends where you want to go... and in any case there are other OneWorld options where you would get similar status benefits as BA...

Oh dear, I thought your title meant you were going for a Bachelor of Arts degree! That might be more attainable, though, eh?  :D

BA may have the bigger problem that all the business travellers are still not flying - I'm one of them.  I will lose my silver this June, at which point, there's no more value me flying them than with other airlines sadly, it was using the extra features (and therefore keeping) silver each year that kept me choosing them (within company policy of course).  Once its gone - you have to pay to choose your seats etc (even if allowed business class).
