  • I like to call dieting - a healthy eating plan , basically food management.

Golden rules basically , third of your plate should be vegetables ( excluding potatoes) , protein rich meat such as chicken or salmon , healthy fats and limit the carbs - allow a small treat a day and you won't go far wrong.

have found however its more difficult to shift , the older you get

Just caught up on the diary.  Have had a horrendous few days but will post about that on my own diary when I feel up to it.

I love slippers. I have always worn them since I could walk I believe! I only buy supermarket ones, nothing fancy.  No one else in my family wears them apart from MrM in the deepest of winter.

I remember watching The Thornbirds at some point but have no recollection of Flambards at all.  There is a tv series I remember but it's on the tip of my tongue. It will irritate me for hours now until I remember it!  I'm currently ploughing through The Handmaids Tale on Amazon but not seen any for a couple of weeks.

And yes, dying of heat. It's been 32 deg here 🍦 Hopefully lost some weight due to sweating, salads and no appetite.

    thanks @efes_shareholder @DrCarrie, sound advice.
welcome back @Naomim. Sorry you’ve had some dire days, I will pop over and see what’s been happening ☹️ Drop us some clues about the tv series memory and we can try and help you out. I haven’t tried the handmaids tale yet, is it worth a go?

The Handmaids Tale is excellent if you like that type of dystopian fiction. A cautionary tale of how things can change! It's really made me want to read the book.

Good morning and happy Thursday. It feels a bit chilly today! 🥶
just ticking along until payday here…a week on Friday 😬 There is nothing I need and plenty I want!
I have updated my spreadsheets for next month already and am impatiently waiting to do the money shuffle 😁
Thanks @Naomim I will give it a go. Books are often better I think as they can include more back story, detail and what everyone is thinking.
I agree @beanielou….and my budgeting is dire, so it just shows how hard losing weight is 🤣
I hope you all have wonderful days 🌺🌸

Happy Thursday! First day of the holidays here so I am demob happy 🥳. Just spent an hour sorting the garden for family visiting at the weekend then off to charity shops to get rid of some stuff - mental note, DON'T buy more! On the weight loss I find low carb works for me and not weighing myself too often or I get disheartened and think - s*d it!

    Happy holidays @elbree 😁
@Naomim I saw firefly lane a while ago. It was ok, but it didn’t inspire me to get the book.
I’m on number 52 book of the year, still on track to beat my record (since records began 3 yrs ago 🤣). It’s called Curious Minds, a Knight & Moon mystery, written by Janet Evanovich (of Stephanie Plum fame). It’s very good so far, so I’ll be getting the rest of the series I’m sure.
