That’s the spirit @CRANKY40 😁 The sundae was good @milann. I went for prawn salad which sounds saintly, but had a lot of calories going on 🤭 it had everything, potato salad, coleslaw, grapes, egg, cheese, even some real salad leaves, red onion, pepper, cucumber, tomato and the prawns in Marie Rose sauce. Not the diet food it sounds like 😅 Then we called to look at a local furniture shop and they had a dog 😮 A lovely young retriever type and I confess I spent a long time on the floor getting my face kissed and my fingers mouthed….I’m a dog tart, I can’t help it! I’m not sure about the furniture as the M&S wardrobe I’ve been eyeing up is cheaper, but there was a dressing table I’m in love with…I just don’t think I have room. I’ve never had a grown up dressing table and it had a fold down mirror and a jewellery compartment 😍. I’d have happily had that (and the dog)…

I have never had a dressing table either!
I don't even have matching bedside cabinets anymore!

If I had a big house like I used to have I would choose the older furniture over M&S as it was produced by craftsmen and built to last for ever. I have M&S now as it came up the narrow stairs of our smaller house part built and they supply the chaps to put the rest of it together. I wouldn't buy it again though, I chose an ivory colour and the paint is starting to lift on the back of the bedside table (had it 8 years). When I was small we moved in with my nana when she was widowed and I shared a room with her. Her bedroom furniture was 27 years old at that point and in immaculate condition. It lasted me until I was 18 and was still perfect but my dad made me leave it behind when we moved house.

None of mine matches either @beanielou. And absolutely @CRANKY40 the solid antique stuff is so much nicer. What a shame you don’t still have it. I’d love a lion, the witch and the wardrobe style wardrobe (although it would be a bit disappointing if it didn’t have a back door into Narnia…)

Good morning and happy Thursday 🌞☕️
This week is going much too fast. Today we are staying in so I may paint the door and window in the bathroom. It will probably need a few coats, but I can make a start. The almost pound has not dropped off, but at least I haven’t added to it.
Going back to your M&S furniture @CRANKY40 I was looking at the ones I was pondering and they have a 10 year guarantee. If yours are 8 years old it might be worth contacting them about yours…nothing ventured, nothing gained 😁
Tomorrow is already praying on my mind…cars are so stressful. Personally I’d be happy if they changed mot’s to every other year as I get things fixed as soon as I notice them anyway, and I expect 99% of the population do the same. I do think the American system is wild though, how they can drive them in any condition and seem to be able to jump in any car without considering the insurance. Do they just insure themselves? Do they not have to have it at all? I only have information from films and books, so I have no idea 🤭 The one thing they seem to have right is parking bays to fit the cars…why are all ours lined up to fit a 1950’s morris minor?
I hope you all have a great day ☕️🌟

A friend of mine in the business reckons that around 20% of vehicles that only go very local don't have tax MOT or insurance.  As long as you can depend on your neighbours not running them through the system to check & you don't go through any cameras then you'll never get caught.
