    Good morning!
Could you get MrWW to do a bbq? It might involve some spending on food but might save you cooking today and maybe even tomorrow if you have enough left over 😀
We're having one today, invited some neighbours over, they have 2 boys very similar ages to ours so that's meals and entertainment sorted. There will be some extra spending on food but all within the budget.
I hope you manage to do a bit of everything and have a lovely sunny day! 🌞

Good morning @jokono. Enjoy your bbq 🍗
it’s actually quite grim up here, overcast and a little chilly. We haven’t bought a bbq since we’ve been here as if it’s sunny you tend to get eaten alive by midges! I used to love them when we lived somewhere sensible 😬

    Sunday already...what on earth happened?
I did pretty much what I planned yesterday with some quilting, reading and pottering about. I had a nice g&t in the evening as an email told me it was world gin day and it would have been rude not to 🤣
today I may attempt to tidy some of my office. It’s very much a dumping ground as the door gets shut when I’m not in it and MrWW has a habit of dropping old post in there instead of ripping it up. I am guilty of never being on top of the work shredding as the shredder overheats and now have enough miscellaneous papers to start a library or my own recycling plant 😖 Kim and Aggy would have a field day in there!
I hope you all have wonderful Sundays ☀️🌺

Happy Sunday.  Our spare room is on my long term "to do" list as "ebay contents of" due to the HT filling it with things that he absolutely had to have at the time but now no longer needs. I'm doing as little as possible today as I'm feeling in need of a day off.

Happy Sunday, I hope it's sunny/less cloudy today.
I'm taking the day off too, not that I did much yesterday 😬
I've been chilling in the garden with a coffe since after feeding the boys, catching up on the forum, must be over 2 hours now. I needed it after cleaning a dead bird and lots of wriggly maggots off the living room floor. "Let's get a cat" I said, "won't be much extra work" I said...🙄

Happy Sunday.  I've been at Chessington world of Adventures with 11yo and I'm pooped! I had to have a shower when I got home and now in a nightie catching up on Casualty after a few hands of Old Maid with MrM & 11. I thought they didn't need so much attention as they got older. Obviously she didn't get the memo 😂

@Naomim that sounds wonderful. My step d at that age was full on. Our game of choice was frustration...so much frustration 🤣 she and I wore the popper out 😁
@CRANKY40 I hope you got your relaxing day off.
@jokono mine are house cats or they’d be crunching rabbits inside. We still managed to get maggots hatching last summer, it was so warm they hatched on the trays where the cat food dishes are. They get wiped down all the time, so it just shows how quick they can move when windows are open and flies get in...yuk 🤢

    Happy Sunday everyone.
I got on top of (literally; trampled and stamped) shoulder height nettles out the back of our garden this morning before attacking them with the strimmer lent by a neighbour in trade for the fence panel paint sprayer. Took me about 90 minutes and I was in full clothes as I didn’t dare have any exposed skin out and risk getting stung and was melting at just 9am this morning. There is still a bit left to do but we can finally see the stunning field over our fence now instead of ugly nettles. Anyone know anything that will kill them once and for all?

Taken an hour today to research a little about growing a few bits of veg (successfully albeit late) in our garden and listed (pretty much) the contents of our shed for sale so felt very MSE this weekend. Hope you all have a restful evening :)

@MissRikkiC I have no idea, but we do have plenty and strim ours where they get in the way. We have a country/wild garden with a steep banking, a small wood and a burn. Anything down the banking is pretty much left to its own devices. There are fields behind and we’ve occasionally had an odd roe deer come up into the top garden, which is a worry as they could head onto the road...luckily the 2 we’ve seen have gone back down, but the rabbits are always playing chicken 😦
I love the idea of growing veg, but I really don’t like weeding, so I’d not be much good.
