  • HI ww, so pleased its your last day at work plenty of time to relax before Christmas.  That sounds like a nice long break until 4/1 have you any exciting plans?  Next sale starts today online, I am hoping to nab some underwear in the sale but not sure they will have my size - diet here I come!!
Sadly my partners father passed in the night it was expected but still a shock when it happens.
Bless Mr.ww my partner has never mastered the art of wrapping presents.  Have a lovely day x
I’m so sorry about your sad news. It’s always a shock even when you can see it coming.
I stopped ordering from next as I found I was spending hundreds every sale day on things I didn’t really need. They closed my account to teach me a lesson, as I hadn’t ordered for some time 🙄

  • Good morning and happy Thursday 🎅🏻🎄 No work today and early pay day on the good side, but dentists on the bad side 😅 Rather than saving the funds for January, I dived straight in and did the money shuffle as I wanted to hit my first self imposed premium bond target. I won £50 in December! Everything is potted away now, with just the January dd’s, expected spends and spending money left in that account. I will work out exactly how much spending money I have per week after the dental bill, as I hope to cover that without impacting on my savings. I’m hoping to have a real savings drive next year, but I’ll bore you with my resolutions later 🤣 This year I took some pretty big hits on the savings with the car repairs, etc. but have come in at £5k more than last December (not including the early January pay shuffle). So that wasn’t bad, but could be a lot better.
I hope you all have a good day 😕🎄☕️

    I think £5k is brilliant 👏

Hope you’re not too sore after the dentist.

  • Oh the dentists was weird! No check up, no drilling, no injections…just a quick poke around with a pointy thing and he whacked some filling in and I was out! They are very short staffed, as evidenced by my 3 month wait to be seen, but even so. Last time that tooth was filled (about 5 yrs ago) it involved injections, drilling and a clamp to hold it together while it set and the dire warning that if it didn’t stick I’d be looking at a crown. So, I don’t have a huge amount of confidence, but he didn’t say it was temporary and gave no instructions on eating, etc. I have avoided that side, but will be worried about brushing it 😖 Crazy times! The good thing was there was no charge.
I’m glad it’s over though and can be Christmas ready now.
Thanks beanie and SA. We don’t have ‘away’ holidays, so I think that does make a big difference to the savings. I’d like to do at least £500 per month next year, so £6k (or more), fingers crossed.

I think the filling they use is totally different than the old stuff. I went last month and he refilled one that had come out. It was the same as you say…..so far so good with it 🤞
The  savings and plans sound great
    January spends - £587.58

Oh how lovely beanie. Was it the little sandwiches and cakes type afternoon tea? I’d love one of those.

That’s interesting milann, thank you for telling me. It’s disconcerting when things change and they don’t explain…even if it’s better!
