  • @Deni_debt-free_dreamer our place have done that a lot. Even when you aren’t downgraded generally the terms & conditions for new joiners are and if you go for promotion you then end up on those worse terms ☹️ What’s good for the company is rarely good for the workers!
I’d be worried about online banking being off more than an hour. Is it your side or theirs?

  • hi WW
I work in the public sector so Ts & Cs are fairly standard & if downgraded we would get 100% protection for one year then it drops 50% in year 2 then down to the new grade the 3rd year.  I don't feel my boss appreciates our role as he's changed it a lot which has deskilled it (i've said that to him!!).  I hope to give up FT work in a couple of years & do a portfolio of PT jobs only (i also have 2 PT jobs and some self employment at the moment) so just need to hang in there for a few more years (but that depends on paying off my mortgage and getting some savings eek!!)
Online banking - when i click login it just goes to a blank screen; g00gle isn't showing any problems so i better phone them :(

  • @Deni_debt-free_dreamer you could try from a different device to see if it’s you or them. Then Facebook or Twitter will be filled with complaints if it’s them 😬
Being mortgage free would be amazing. We have 10 yrs left and our overpayments of £2 here and £3 there aren’t making a dent yet ☹️

Has your devices security updated recently?
  • @WW  - superstar!  Tried on another device and it worked!
@badmemory - yes actually it has, didn't think of that doh .....

    thanks both :)

mortgage free is my dream!  I think my term ends in just under 4 years but i'll be over 60 then and i want it paid off sooner so i can work less hours/ at fewer jobs (currently have 1 x FT job; 2 x PT jobs and some self employment) .  I enjoy my PT jobs and self employment and would like to do more of those type of roles but to do so i need to be able to leave my FT job & to do that i need to get rid of my mortgage.....

  • @Deni_debt-free_dreamer I’d love to have a part time job too, just to steam through the mortgage overpayments or build savings, but I have no idea what else I could do!

  • Good morning and happy Wednesday ☕️🍫📚🎄
This time next week will be my last day before Christmas 🥳 I was awake half the night writing a virtual hand over for my cover 🙄
we are shamefully onto the second tin of Christmas shortbread already…it’s very nice with morning coffee. Dog now has her breakfast, her chewy (second breakfast), then races through it to nip into both offices for her shortbread 3rd breakfast 🤣, then it’s just a short sleep on my foot until 10am toast time and then a short snooze until 12 when she shares her dads dinner and a biscuit or whatever I’ve grabbed. She has a longer afternoon where she’ll shuffle around and moan a bit until I finally finish work and start making tea. It’s a hard life for an old dog. She has rolls, ambles and sniffs in the garden at those points too and a first wander around before breakfast and last thing at night.
I’m a little down on where I wanted to be spreadsheet wise, so I’m hoping for no change until early pay day next week when I can do my review. That means no spending for a week (I can hear beanie rolling her eyes when she reads this….it’s hard beanie, I’m weak!).
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday filled with Christmas shortbread and all good things 🍫📚☕️🎄

Morning, I'm stuck at home with Covid, feeling bad about missing work and sad about being on my own a lot for the next 10 days. The dog's life sounds pretty cushy 😂, I think I might copy her to cheer myself up!

    Morning WW
your dog has made my morning… mine is the same!!  When we go back to the office they are going to have to factor in a massive doggy crèche 😂.  My sister bought me Lidl shortbread last week - wow is all I can say.  I think we need the extra sugar to make it to the Xmas hols.
good luck on the no spending this week - will be virtually cheering you on.
  • Morning all

    It actually is a dog's life ;)

i still don't have shortbread but i do have a £20 liddle voucher to spend.....

WW - i took on an additional job a few years ago when i worked 30 hours & was under pressure to go FT but resisted as my DDs were still school age; my PT job was WfH except for one eve meeting a month.  Most of my work is in the public sector and not highly paid by any means - i earn £94 for 10 hours pcm at one of my PT jobs!  All helps to chip away at the mortgage.

elbree - hope you don't feel too poorly

WW - be strong, we are with you  :)

    love Deni
