  • Good morning and happy Wednesday 🍫☕️📚🧁
    Almost halfway through the week.
All the big dd’s have gone out now and I’m back in the poverty part of the month 😖 Yesterday was very spendy. I got a few Christmas presents and then spotted the replacement coffee machine I’ve had my eye on for months had dropped in price. It’s the same one we have now, just black on the outside instead of silver (because black is over £100 cheaper for some reason). It’s a very good one and ours is used 10 times a day easily, has lasted years and years, but sadly the chrome is peeling from the spout now, looks manky and rusty underneath and is in danger of flaking into the drinks. I will need to borrow a portion from savings and pay back, MrWW has given some towards and we are classing it as our Christmas present to each other.I’m still feeling a bit 😳 now I’ve bought it. We could have limped on, so it wasn’t MSE at all.
The flower lights came yesterday for the kitty graves. They look like chrysanthemums and are pretty and bright. I hope they last a while. We are charging them up under the lights before they go outside, there’s not much sun to be had out there.
I hope you all have wonderful Wednesdays filled with joy and happiness and all good things 🍁📚☕️🍫🍰

@WinterWarrior - although not very MSE buying the new coffee machine it sounds like it's something you would have needed to replace shortly and it's something that's very important to you!  We did something similar earlier this year as our old one was leaking - we had returned the machine to the manufacturer for repair at a cost of £50 but when it came back it was still leaking albeit a bit less.  Definitely didn't want the laminate on the side delaminating because of getting wet and we've only recently spent a fortune doing it up!

Sounds like the coffee machine was a useful purchase, and as you got it at a good price and you're going halfers on it as an Xmas present then it's justifiable. You'll both just have to remember it is your Xmas present to each other and not buy anything else  ;)

My microwave needs replacing, bits are peeling off. I'm trying to hold out until Black Friday although I only want a basic one it's only really used to heat things up. The flower lights sound fabulous and a lovely tribute to your dear departed kitties.

  • Thanks everyone. @joedenise so annoying paying for a repair that didn’t work. @Elisheba yes, we must remember not to spend any more! @Sun_Addict I will kick myself if it’s cheaper in the Black Friday sales 😢

The coffee machine bis MSE, you have budgeted it as best as you can, yours needs replacing (flakes in coffee 😱) and acquired at a reasonable price.   If you had to borrow for it then that would be different

Sun Addict, microwaves are on offer at Lidl atm.  I don't know if one would fit on Mr SA's scooter.
