Thanks beanie. It’s not curable sadly. His liver is failing, I’m not sure if his breed has made it worse. He can only keep down certain foods (cooked chicken and tuna) and refuses the specialist cat food. We feed him whatever he fancies that agrees with him, but sometimes he sneakily fills up on cat food and then vomits it everywhere!

  • So sorry @beanielou ☹️ I lost my beautiful girl to kidney disease and she was only 15 ☹️. My two oldest ladies went at 17 and 18, so 20 is an admirable age.

  • Good morning and happy Friday 🍰📚🍫🍁🎃
Well that was pay day 😬☹️ All shuffled, allocated and gone now.
I have kept some back from savings deliberately so I can make a start on the Christmas presents. I’ve ordered MrWW’s (second) winter coat, cleared off the cat food and set aside all the dd money. I need to make sure I don’t take any savings back out. I’ve been doing this regularly, but with putting less in because of the Christmas presents I need to ensure I don’t take any out and go backwards! I have moved £100 over to my pots, which I am now keeping separate to my savings total. This way when I do need a regular payment like heating oil it won’t take my savings backwards.
last month I made £35 of over payments to the mortgage for the first time ever. Every little helps. I will try to do a bit each month. I’m hoping to knock a year off the 10 years we have left, although I realise that’s ambitious.
Anyway, onwards and upwards and all that! I hope you all have an amazing Friday filled with good luck, happy moments and nice things 📚🍫☕️🧁

Happy Friday and happy payday. It doesn't take long before it's all accounted for does it. I have a forward look spreadsheet ready for payday so I already know where it's all going. It's good that you've started making overpayments, I've only just started to do this, even small amounts add up. Same principle applies to savings, every little helps 😁

I used to just Tilly Tidy (move all the odd pence) from my accounts and use those to make overpayments on the mortgage.  Even those small amounts add up.  The only thing is when the annual statement came through it would be quite a few pages!  Payments were between 1p and £4.99 as I liked to round the account to an even £5!  It certainly helped shorten the mortgage period.

Well done on the mortgage overpayments.  I send over £1 a day and add survey money as and when I can.  I was playing with a mortgage calculator earlier and £30 a month off my mortgage would roughly knock off 9 months, so depending on your interest rate and time left, you might not be far off a year with £35 a month.

  • Thanks everyone. I will definitely try to keep it up.
