Happy Monday. Payday this week 🥳
My work team had a restaurant booked but some people were a bit apprehensive about it so it’s going to be a virtual do now. The only trouble is they want to do it in the evening. I don’t fancy that as it would feel like being at work in my own time, not my idea of fun at all. It would be good if you could claim the £35 and treat yourself.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Ours chose a central location @Sun_Addict for a lunch rather than an evening meal. It seemed to work for most people, although I’m surprised more aren’t unhappy about the train hours and mingling with covid numbers on the rise. I agree though, lunch is much better. Will MrSA want to join in on an evening zoom? 🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

With all that travelling WW I'd be saying thanks but no thanks! I really wouldn't be happy with all that travel just for a meal out and to be honest I was never bothered about work do's when I was working (glad I don't have that problem now I'm retired!).

Morning WW & friends
Catching up ....
For xmas - In my family of 3 sisters (also have a brother but he lives abroad so isn't included) we have 8 nieces/nephew between us so we divvy them up and take 2 each per year to buy presents for and rotate it round. Spend limit of £15. This means we sometimes buy for our own kids but it seems the most straightforward. We put the label as from 'The Aunties' (like the Mafia but more scary;) We also buy for one sister each. Limit of £15 too. We didn't do anything last year so that was very MSE! The year before my sis got in a muddle and bought for the 'wrong' sister - that meant sis #3 got 2 gifts and i didn't get anything!! I buy for my parents (dad & stepmum) but they dont want stuff so i try to buy useful things like food, experience voucher, subscription or something for the garden.
My budget is very tight this month. I have to pay TV licence, quarterly water rates and house insurance. Plus had 5 birthdays to buy gifts for.
I'm also paying extra for petrol as i'm visiting poorly DD2 more often at uni which is 180 miles away.

I love the idea of mafia aunties, I hope you all wear black 😁
Sorry about all the nasty bills coming in at once, is that for November? Horrible when they are just before Christmas. In Scotland (or here at least) the water is still in with the council tax, but I used to pay monthly when I had them separate, it made it easier to budget. And the same with the tv license. MrWW pays ours quarterly, but I hate having quarterly bills looming up, so annual or monthly for me.I hope DD feels better soon. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Haha WW - one of my sisters is pretty scary actually! I'm obviously full of sweetness and light
Thanks re DD2, i haven't posted about it on your thread but she was in hospital overnight (in A&E on a hard plastic chair, in pain alone and scared) and won't fully recover for months.
Re Xmas 'dos' i don't know what happens where i work as i've only been there one Xmas - 2020! We did a virtual team meeting last year with xmas jumpers but half the team didn't bother - i wore my very fetching elf hat regardless!!
I do my budget payday to payday and get paid on the 20th. So all those payments come out of October salary and i have to wait to the 20 Nov for more income, eek! I should pay insurance over 12 months but it costs more so i always object and think i'll manage. I need to look at the quote and do a comparison to see if i can get it lower. I also pay very little for gas & elec as i was ££s in credit and reduced my monthly bills for the remainder of the term. My provider went pearshaped so i'm now with the tentacled one and don't know what i'll end up paying - probably more than my current rate of £55 pcm!!LBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Good morning and happy Tuesday 🍫🍁📚🧁
my Hotel chocolat order arrived yesterday. I had splashed out last week, but then yesterday used the receipt to claim the Christmas meal allowance as a gift instead. So when that comes through I will have had free chocolates 🙃😋 I may have had a couple of Madagascar vanilla truffle white chocolate penguins to celebrate 😋
last night was not a good night, with a 3am showing of MrWW hates that cat. Poor old cat is unsteady on his feet and managed to spill his tuna on MrWW’s head. Cat wakes up needing food as he can’t store it well with his health issues and MrWW insists on keeping it by his bed…the inevitable happened! So I will once again be doing a lunchtime bedding wash 😖 The atmosphere is stormy ⛈ 🌊
ah well, at least there’s work to look forward to 😬
I hope you all have tremendous Tuesdays filled with tuna free beds and excellent chocolate 🍫📚🍰🎃☕️☕️☕️☕️

Happy Tuesday. How fab about the free chocolates. Not so fab about the cat incident. My cat woke me up this morning at 5am to give me a head massage. The dog got jealous so there was a bit of a pillow stand off. Decided that was my cue to get up!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
