Luckily I'm mortgage free but I didn't realise I could've overpaid any of it. My eldest dd overpays hers and loves seeing the term left coming down, they hope to get it paid off in the next 4/5 years, it's like their mission in life at the moment. I think if I had to pay a mortgage or rent to pay I would have to get rid if my car.

Good morning and happy Wednesday ☕️☕️☕️☕️ Almost halfway through the working week.
I have lots of meetings today, which will slow me down a lot.@nannygladys, I definitely need ours gone before retirement. Preferably 5 years before, so I can save up a bit. I’d like to be able to eat and not work at the same time 😬
I have started my Christmas spreadsheet and will try to get it all done next month if possible. Luckily it’s not a huge list.I hope you all have wonderful Wednesdays filled with everything you love 🍫☕️🍰🍁🎃Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Well done on setting up the mortgage overpayments! It's surprising how much those little amounts add up.
I agree about Greg, I was disappointed to see him leave, but those outfits were awful. It always seems that the weeks when someone has a particularly bad outfit, they always end up in the bottom two. I wonder if it's done deliberately"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
We can make unlimited overpayments to our mortgage but our budget is so tight that there's never much to go in the pot. I do round the accounts down each week though so lots of 32p here and 2p there sort of things...it always works out around £30ish a month which is enough to make a difference at the other end.4

My Monzo account does rounding too. I usually get about £10 a month which goes on that pesky cc debt. Once that's done I can really think about the mortgage.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Good luck with all your meetings today, @WinterWarrior. As you say, its Wednesday today so by the time we get to this evening the working week will be practically over

I agree with you all on the rounding up and overpayments. Even tiny amounts should knock a month or two off eventually, as I still have almost 10 years to go. Ideally I’d like to knock a year off in the end.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Hi WW - half way through the working week thank goodness! I'm feeling very unmotivated this week and so is my laptop which is very slow. I had a stressful few days as DD2 ended up in A&E last week at her uni town nearly 200 miles away
I started overpaying my mortgage about 4 months ago; i'm in a fixed rate mortgage deal that ends next summer. I'd love to be mortgage free but should be able to get it below 20k by then. I'm being very frugal and have only had the heating on twice this autumn. I've managed to get some washing dry on the line this week too!
