Personally, I know that it is illegal, but I would deflate their tyres.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Further help required please!

I have got the case transferred to my local court, just waiting on documents from them.

Have received a judgement from Northampton County Court, upon close inspection it relates to the 2nd ticket received for the identical alleged contravention.

I assumed the claim was the 2 tickets combined.

Spoken to the court, who informed me they are being dealt with as 2 seperate cases.

I asked if it could be put on on file whilst the ongoing case in my local court is heard as the facts are identical.  This isn't possible !

The only option is to apply to set aside.  I'm willing to do this, rather than pay a penny to VCS.

Just require some advice on how best to do this?

How to set out the reasons for setting aside?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

What is the date of the county court judgment against you?  Has the due date for making the payment passed?

The NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post, has details on how to make a set aside application.

The set aside application won't suspend your route to a credit-trashing affect on your credit rating (for six years).   Only the payment of the judgment will prevent that.  A set aside application won't be dealt with by the courts in the time you have left to pay up.

You need to pay that off, then deal with any set aside then. But you need a good reason for applying for the set aside - I'm not sure you've told us why the judgment in default crept in.

  • Hi, 2 tickets were issued in close succession I.e a couple of weeks same place, same vehicle. I was under the impression they were being dealt with  combined, obviously this isn't the case. Would you advise just pay ? The amount is equal to setting aside, with no guarantee it would be granted.

I'm just reluctant as if (hopefully) successful in court with the ongoing claim, would be paying in vain ?

    Thank you.
  • Hi, just re-read your post.

You pay the judgement,  then apply to set aside ?
