Good afternoon!
I have been busy with the paid stuff this week. My first week of 4 days for months, when everyone else is happy to have a short week! (4 days is/will be normal again from now on)
I am sitting in my summerhouse. I have given my sowings/seedlings some gentle encouragement - some are doing better than others! I came out here so I could hear the church bells at noon and for some quiet contemplation. I have finished my tea, so I am going indoors to fill a CS bag, and taking 2 toy buggies & some tiger feet with me to start it off! I am determined to get rid of some of this stuff! I need to be brutal!
WM 1 in TD, WM 2 swishing. I have WULTD, s&s the kitchen and put on the DW. I am going to make a list and do a small food shop. DH can do the main one on Monday 😉 I may also pop into Mr W for some wool (if they have it - to complete my blanket) and some garden paint (I need to redo my allotment shed). Is anyone else excited about the CS opening on Monday? 😂
Hugs to Fayolle I have been thinking about you. You can have my spoons as I am okay and won't need them x
Have a good weekend everyone!8 -

Waves, spoons and (((hugs))) to Fayolle xxx
Before we went out this morning I had iced the coffee cake and made up packed lunches. We had a lovely time with DS2 &Co, including a pleasant walk through the woods with DGS3+4 (and Rosie, of course) and lots of conversation. DH just managed the walk from the car park to the shepherd's hut (with 8 stops on the way, he told me) but he was shattered. It was sunny when we arrived but by the time we sat down for lunch it had begun to spit rain and went a lot colder - I was frozen by the time we left! We drove home through an amazing downpour of what I can only describe as "soft hail". I spent the afternoon wrapped in a blanket, and we had curry for tea.
I have also done a little bit more of the admin job which is currently the bane of my life, FUPA clean washing, emptied DW, re-jigged a freezer drawer to fit in 2 loaf-shaped cakes, emailed DS1 and watched quite a bit of TV.
The ancestors are still lounging about on the spare bed, glaring at my backI keep telling them that their turn will come, but they are getting impatient. Next week I need to be more focused and complete all the admin jobs asap so that they are out of sight and out of mind.

- Listened to a podcast during 1st cuppa (in bed) about how much good going for a walk "first thing" can do. Their definition of first thing comprised being within 2hrs of waking up - so Mr N and I decided to use that as our incentive. Up, breakfast and walked via the village shop to get a paper; out for about an hour 'briskly'.
- One load washing on, hung out, brought in when it began to rain.
- Texted DB and SIL as it is their anniversary and her birthday. Kept getting messages to say her Body Shop present was being sent, almost there and arriving so that was good timing. Rang them for a chat later.
- Went to the church to check flowers are ok. By the time I'd watered them and picked out any dead ones I was freezing, so after a quick inspection of the floor decided it didn't need vacuuming this week. Big clean and flower arranging next week as the vicar's daughter is getting married; ironically after being Covid-postponed twice already, it is set for next Saturday at 3pm which exactly coincides with the Duke's funeral.
- filled bird feeders
- did drum practice
- watched Grand National; actually rather a lot of TV today catching up with all the royal anecdotes and plans. Couldn't decide if I should hang my union flag somewhere but as I usually drape it from the bedroom window for celebrations, I couldn't exactly do it half mast so left it in the drawer.
- booked National Trust garden tickets for my birthday next week, picnic planned weather permitting.
Planned to write a bit of a report but don't imagine I'll get much done now.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Moomiins door is hung.. and perfect and even up to OH's standards.. Thank all the gods! I can get it re-pinked tomorrow early on and he can attach the knob before she gets home. I need a knob for the outsde.. a brass one.. so she can pull it closed, or I can after I've poked my nose in to talk at her.. I regularly poke my face in to make sure everyone is still ok.. and ask inane questions and make small talk.. They need to know I know they are there!DW been onNew sheets dried ready to go on the bed. I have a pile to take up before Nutkin widdles on it all.
The girls 'cleaned' today... the WC is flooded, the spiders are staging a revolt... And in the last 24 hours I have sent 3 emails to the council re noise and fly tipping, rang the police twice about the newish neighbours, they are becoming quite the nuisance. Boog complained at me because I didn't know about their hospital appointment and we FINALLY got Twinkle cardiology appointment.. a year late but who's counting?
I got to sleep at 4am last night so hoping for better tonight! Just wanted to check in so you don't all think i have been eaten by wolves, or abducted by aliens or buried under a pile of detritus.

Morning all.
I did everything I intended yesterday which wasn't very much.
Today I have changed sofa covers and cushion covers and cleaned downstairs loo.
Just having breakfast. Today will be a mix of flying, reading, writing, puzzling and knitting. Oh, and catching up on the washing up from last night.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all
Sorry I haven’t been posting, been a bit of a week... I had a busy day yesterday getting the house back in order and doing some cooking. Today I need to make cake for DH to take up to FIL when he goes to visit on Tuesday, I have the wm swishing, so that will be pegged out when done. We are planning to head out for a walk this morning and then relax and recuperate this afternoon.
Sending hugs, sticks, spoons to those in need. Take care xx8 -
It's a lovely blue sky with the sun shining, but it's very cold out there..lolHugs to everyone especially YL and dancemum, and to Ionafan, Fayolle and Round xxNot quite sure what's happened to the last few days, I think I crashed and have been feeling sorry for myself (that doesn't sound as bad as it is written, it's my way of dealing with things that I don't understand is happening in my head) What I wouldn't give to not have mental health issues and be a normal sane person..😜Oh yeah I had to strip some of the flooring in the kitchen as we had wet water that wouldn't dry in-between the flooring, and it ruined a baseboard on the kitchen cupboard. So now relaying the floor section is a plan before moving..yay!!!Anyway today is onwards and upwards and get back into the packing again and cleaning the house. So here's my plan for today:MedsShower and dress (before 11am, Dave is asleep till 10am so can't have it earlier...)Wash up breakfast thingsTry out new ironPack up two boxesFinish letter to penpalPost above letterWatch Hollyoaks omnibusKeep to SW plan - have lost 8.6lb in just over a month 👍Make bedHang washing out to dryClean and change cat trayTidy living roomHoover downstairsLooks a lot but I'm sure it's doable xxxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
