Hi all
Thanks for the wise words Pigpen. I thought the day after a BH weekend was probably not the best time to try and get a sympathetic response from the doctors so I will try tomorrow.
Little flurries of snow here. Have done 30 mins of exercise, been into the office, now back home. Mushroom and bacon pasta for my tea, DH having spag bol. Have hoovered downstairs and flicked the duster around, I will try and change our bedding before I need to get in it. Back at work 6.30pm for a meeting, not feeling the love for the paid stuff at the moment.
Well done on the walking Round, it is so good for you mentally and physically. I regularly take myself off for a walk when I feel like I need to press the reset button.
NMM sorry to hear your news, I have been through it and it's so tough, take all the help you are offered and try to take care of yourself, there is only so much that you can shoulder yourself. Thinking about you x10 -
Layla's been for what we hope is her last thrombocytopenia blood test, and has lost a kilo now she's off the steroids in the last month. Three more to go. Fingers crossed for the result, which we may not get asap because the vet whose care she is currently under is on holiday. She's also been vaccinated, and needs a leptospirosis booster in a month which I can't book because the local surgery is still in Lockdown. I don't want to take her up to the hospital if I don't have to. When her new insurance year kicks in she needs to have some lumps investigated - urgent last March! - and her teeth cleaned. I don't think a week or two is going to make all the difference at this stage of the game and she's cost a pretty penny over the past year over and above her insurance limit. There's been an irritating job hanging around for three months that was as boring as I knew it would be but it's now done. I thought it would take an hour - it took four. Thank goodness for podcasts and Sounds.Back to the Food file tomorrow, I hope. I would dearly, dearly love that to be finished in one more day but I suspect it will take a week. It'll be worth it when it's done but goodness some of these jobs that have been hanging around for years are time-consuming. I suppose that's why they've been hanging around for so long.Four very big boxes of gibble dropped off at the Hospice CS collection point. Another four ready to go next time I go out and about and then it's back up to the attic for the next trawl through. That'll wait until the weather warms up - it's freezing up there at the moment. I'm rather pleased - it shows we've got enough insulation.Better is good enough.8

Started the day with a run and very glad I wore gloves; sunny but an absolutely bitter wind which was hard to run against on the home straight.
Put wm on after my shower and got thoroughly chilled hanging the washing out. I mean, really shivery cold which hadn't abated after lunch in the conservatory (in my fleece onesie). Took me ages to warm up and Mr N finally gave up working in a cold garage and put the heating on around 3pm. It's snowing now.
Spent the afternoon going through 'flagged' emails so have dealt with many, set up next cc payment, checked bank account, checked pension statement, downloaded tax summary.
Ordered B0dySh0p stuff for sil as it's her birthday at the weekend (after several phone conversations with DB to see what she would like). Jeepers it's expensive but she likes it and they were doing free delivery and £5 off for buying £30 worth so I ordered the £25 set I wanted then got a £5 hand cream 'free'.
Had drum practice.
Now off to help Mr N do dinner, prepare paperwork for tomorrow's LIVE assessment ON UNI CAMPUS!!!!!, watch either Harry Potter or Traces which DB has recommended............not necessarily in that order.

Busy day here, no flying but lots of garden work, chicken work and chopping wood! Also sold so,w eggs. Tomorrow morning the DW will need to go on, then we are out for the day at kids sports club. Went past a skip earlier full of fab things, we knocked and the owners said to take what we wanted so we did! It amazes me how much stuff people through away. Sleep well all xx8

I did NOT need this today.. and tomorrow I will have to go through it all over again because she will have thought about it and need things clarifying or have more questions.. yay!

Morning everyone. Managed not to join the WAC until just before 5.00 this morning, and I haven't been back to sleep since. There was a glorious red sky at 6.30, over a very frosty garden: unfortunately the sun almost immediately hid behind the clouds, but it's due to emerge again later. I've finally got myself up to date with my daily readings (things went a bit haywire when DH came out of hospital and over the Easter weekend), I've picked up and put away 3 things in my bedroom (as per today's list - though I might not get much else done in the way of flying), and I've just finished my second cuppa and hot x bun! Not a bad start to the day
Delighted to hear that Layla is doing well with the weight loss, Honey Bear. Perhaps she could have a word with Rosie (or maybe you with me, as Rosie is such an appealing little beggar).
Yesterday, in addition to the usual dailies, I stripped and re-made my bed with fresh bedding, did WMx2 and hung everything out in the sun, emptied all the bins, hoovered through downstairs, and set up a new regular saver account and standing order. Then I went out for a walk with Rosie and had a lightbulb moment regarding the regular saver. Back home, a quick check of some interest calculators confirmed that I can get almost exactly the same amount of interest at the end of the year by a different method which will mean far less of a squeeze on my monthly income. So as soon as the phone lines open this morning I shall be cancelling the new account under the 14-day cooling off rule, as well as the standing order.
My other big job this morning is to get some quotes for car insurance. The renewal letter for both cars (policies both in DH's names) arrived just before DH was taken to hospital, and I realised that if anything happened to him, my car would no longer be insured, nor could I drive his car - not good in a panic situationI always used to have my policy in my name, and I've told DH I'm going to revert to that (he does see the logic, so no hassle - apart from the fact that since he also used to pay for my insurance I shall be worse off: I shall have to negotiate a rise in his contributions to the household bills that I pay!
)
Yesterday I received a very nice email from DGS1, thanking me for the mini Easter eggs I had sent to him and his brother, and asking very politely if I could help him prepare for a scholarship exam by giving him a mock interview later today, The idea is to get him to talk freely on a range of unprepared subjects - that should be interestingThis interviewer had better get some questions prepared...
The other big time waster this week is a virtual charity balloon race. I bought tickets for myself, DH and all my DGC in lieu of big Easter eggs and we are able to track our balloons online. They "took off" from Istanbul on Easter Day and fly for a week (unless they pop, as several others have already done), with the computer tracking their GPS position every half hour from the wind direction, wind speed and temperature. All was going to plan until the jet stream hit Turkey, the wind veered by 180 degrees, and the balloons began flying back towards their starting point. The family WhatsApp conversations have been all-out competitive but also really funny
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx10 -
Morning all
Some fallen snow still on the ground so it must be cold.
