Viewing No Shows!!

Either they decided the area wasn't for them or they have had an offer accepted on something else or seen a property that better meets their needs. The question isn't why they didn't view but why they didn't cancel. Some people are just rude and selfish.1

Maybe it’s just me... but before I book a viewing I’ve usually seen all the photos, Googled to find any previous listings/photos from the last time it was told, checked out street-view and driven by to give the house/area the once over.So the viewing booking is only made when I’m absolutely sure I want a closer look. The folk that don’t turn up are just time wasters anyway, wouldn’t have bought it even if they’d viewed it.6

I find it really irritating that EAs don't put the exact location into RM so that when you look at street view it is a different house. Obvious in some instances but not with cookie cutter estates. So the south facing garden isn't or the house is actually on the corner of a busy road instead of half way down the quier side street. What is the point? If you want to sell you need to give people the excact address at some point so may as well be up front about it.1

I agree that it’s rude, but I also think you have to deal with it.
I’ve had to deal with rude and selfish people after losing someone to Covid and believe me that’s really hard, so I think you’d be happier if you accepted that some people do behave unacceptably. I’m not sure what else can be done about their behaviour and if it can it’s up to the EAs to discuss it with them or in a bad case drop them from their books (yeah as if).0 -
I took one look at the outside of the house I’m buying and thought no chance however I got inside and i fell in love with the inside! Just shows don’t judge a book by it’s cover!Once we’re in the outside is the first thing we’re changing!2

I am just venting as i find it very rude. Also it then takes spaces away from other people wanting to view. Plus don't say you are still coming the day before and then not show!2

It is rude and people just don’t realise and appreciate the time it takes to make house ready for viewing it’s not just a case of opening the front door to the viewers it’s all the tidying and cleaning especially when you have children and pets, even if someone was to spend two minutes looking around that’s favourable than someone just driving away3

Like others, we thought very carefully before before booking a viewing and would never not show up. We did however view some houses that we thought we probably wouldn’t buy but wanted to see for comparison. Which some would say was wasting the vendors time, but we ended up buying one of these! So, even the “time wasters” might be worth it!1

There could be a whole host of reasons why;
-Didn't like the look of it and drove off
-They forgot about the appointment
-They had an offer accepted and just didn't bother to cancel
-Something more important came up and they forgot to cancel
-Your sarcastic brother is booking false appointments to annoy you
Its not great and it is rude but let it go and focus on selling the house. Soon you'll be in your new place enjoying the joys of moving.1 -
We are looking to buy but have spent time walking round the areas we are thinking of buying in to rule on proprties before booking appointments. These days with streetview/ google maps etc.. there are now no reasons to not have some idea of an area before you book an appointment (accept this was different 20 years ago). Also with being in a lockdown, again no reason not to do some research of an area before booking an appointment.
Saw a potentially lovely house on rightmove, but when you look at it on streetview, its a different situation altogether.May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.1
