Viewing No Shows!!

IIRC it was outside EA office hours, and I didn't have a mobile number for the person conducting the viewing.Octothorpe said:
It would be good etiquette to phone as you drove off 😂AdrianC said:I've done it.
I've turned up early for a viewing, taken one look, thought "Dear lawd, NO", and kept driving.
Would it be more of a time-waste for everybody if I pretended to be interested, and had a tour of the place?0 -
So no, you were rude. You should have at least stayed long enough to let that person know you had changed your mind so they weren't hanging around waiting for you.AdrianC said:

Glad the consensus is that it's rude/bad manners.1

Sometimes the photos don't show whatv the house is really like, eg, next door to a nuclear power station etc. The photos are designed to draw people in and if they're not realistic, well, it's no surprise. Op, do your photos relate realistically to what the house is like, from the outside?0

Yes, trying to "lure" people in with photos that don`t show reality could result in people just driving on by.0

You could have knocked on the door, said having seen the outside/area it's not for you and then left. Saves people holding on waiting for you to turn up!AdrianC said:

I think most of the time it's people who - as above - turn up, realise they don't like the look of the place and just drive on.Rude and inconsiderate. It's easy enough to knock on the door and just explain, but I guess most people don't like awkward situations like that. It's why people will view a property and make lots of positive noises when actually they hate the place.I will always do a drive by before booking a viewing. I don't want to waste my own time viewing a place if I don't like the property from the outside.4

I've done this before, got a mouthful off the seller and then had a cross EA to deal with too who was adamant I should have gone inside as I couldn't possibly have judged from the outside alone. Unfortunately bad manners is rife in property buying and selling (mostly from EAs in my experience). You just have to suck it up.

Initially I’d say it’s really rude..
However, having once when relocating we booked 6 hours with an estate agent as he said he had many properties that matched what we wanted. I went into some shockers and completely wasted our day!! My error as I should have asked for the details the details before agreeing as some didn’t have enough bedrooms, one was half of what we wanted to spend so half the size and one had a sink in the kitchen to wash dogs.As I’m a bit older (probably grumpier) I wouldn’t waste my time again and just not go in. This was several years ago.
Now though we validate and rule out most by street view or knowing the area. Hopefully you’ll sell soon OP and this can be a distant memory!April 2020 - £102,222 Loans/CC’s.

Hi everyone, genuinely there is nothing to put people off. We are very OCD with cleanliness so everything is spotless and it's in a desirable street. Brand new beautiful front door. Recently painted exterior.
Photo's are all representative.
Not me just saying this - every trades person, visitor and EA who's been by has commented how lovely our newly painted house and complentary door is!
Plus even my brother - who is a sarcastic what not and would be the first to take the mick if it looked rubbish 😂
Personally I'd just ring up, pretend I'd just viewed somewhere I loved and have put an offer in on that and apologies for cancelling viewing so late haha.1
