The migration from EE to Vodafone isn't going well.
Asda sent out new SIM cards, and my number was supposed to port yesterday, which it partly did. Can receive calls, but no outgoing calls or texts. Gave up holding on the dedicated helpline after a couple of hours.

From reading Twitter, lots of people have no service at all, in either direction.
Asda are saying it should all resolve itself in the next few days.
I seeby your later post that your phone is working now. Did you have to do anything to get it working?
I am having exactly the same problem as you. Today is my changeover day and cant phone or text out.
    Thanks.

Didn't they have similar issues a few years back when they moved over to Vodafone from O2?
They moved from Vodafone to EE and now are going back to Vodafone.

I just waited, and it sorted itself out after a day or two.
But that was when they were migrating thousands of accounts. I'd have thought things would be running more smoothly now. Might be worth giving them a ring sometime tomorrow if it's not sorted by them. On sometime else's phone, obviously.

My SIM swap was yesterday, lost the ability to text and call (incoming OK) for several hours, but then a message from ASDA arrived: "Your account has been activated", after which all was OK.

ASDA really needs to warn people about this delay in account activation, there is currently nothing about it on the website or texts about the network switch, Customer Services must be snowed under.

DH has activated his new SIM on line today, choosing Monday as the activation day.   I'll report back how it goes.   Assuming smoothly, I'll then do mine later next week.

(I've moved any money around that might need OTP codes for the near future, just in case)
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

And the so called easy swap isn’t easy. I can basically just use my phone on WiFi only. They give you a free bundle on pay as you go for thirty days will be nice to be able to actually use it. Contacted via the web chat and still waiting for a response.
Already found a new network (to the moon mobile that on EE) their prices look good. Going to give them a chance.

DH received a text this morning to say "here's your PAC, if you're switching to our new network please ignore this text" (or words to that effect)

*update* Just before lunch DHs phone binged to say he'd lost network.

After lunch, we swapped the sims over and it accepted a text and call from me, so at least we know the right number has ported.

He currently can't text or call out, but an earlier email did say that this should be temporary, and should resolve itself shortly.

We'll try again later after he's mown the lawn!!!   Quick before it starts raining again!!

Looks like we need to wait for this text, still not working (outgoing).

DH is not known for his patience!!

*Update* text arrived 6pm, all seems ok now.  Free bundle showing under balance.

The delay in account activation after the SIM swap maybe makes sense, because they have to cater for people changing their minds, taking the PAC code to another provider. Maybe they simply wait for several hours to see if your phone number gets registered elsewhere.
