Quick update. I’d rather catch up with all your diaries (lurking away).
I’ve not spent much this month so was on track to stay within budget. I’ve since booked my car into the garage though so I decided as I’d probably have to miss out on bonus interest due to likely withdrawal for that, I might as well withdraw more.
Basically I’ve paid off another £850 off the mortgage, leaving me £12422 to go.
I also ordered £95 of clothes from M&S yesterday (suspect I’ll send £40 of trousers back for me though!)
There’s also the dentist this week for me and the kids. I’ve had to go more recently due to autoimmune conditions 🥳

Marvellous @ladysummerisle! A fresh start. Can I ask if your username relates to The Wicker Man? Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx2

@Humdinger1 of course! 😂 I do like the Wicker Man and I thought it best to use a different username to everywhere else.

Hooray for pay day!
I managed to stay on budget this month. Car repair was free as under warranty so it was just taxis to and fro to pay for. I kept my M&S trousers too so no money back there. (Attempting not to dress like I’m on the school run wherever I go!)
I somehow managed to save £722 this month so I want to keep this up. Even if Vinted has been tempting me again with bags and stationery I don’t need.. I need to list more things myself. I just need more time in the day and a clearer calendar.

February was terrible for illness so with half term too, I was off work for the majority of it. March rolled in and I speculatively checked on the tsb app my overpayment allowance. My ERC % tapered over 5 years and lo and behold, I can now pay off more than I actually owed (!) without penalties.
I lasted a whole day before transferring over £5500 to leave me with a mortgage balance of £5960. I’ve justified it as the savings vs mortgage interest % is negligible. I’ve still got a £10k emergency fund too. It means with no further payments it’s a year to go but I’d like to do it in half that time. Mostly because I’m impatient rather than seeing other goals. Praying to the prolific gods to help me on my way..MFW diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6254913/never-a-good-time-but-here-goes#latest

well done you and I hope you are all feeling better too. I’m on count down too and keep looking at my savings, mortgage balance and interest rates; trying to squeeze a month off my self imposed target end date 🤞I’ve found prolific to be a bit thin for me recently; lots of stuff but not suitable for my situation ☹️
