Great news Thrifty. xYesterday had hairdressers appointment took ages but looks decent now. Spendy day indeed.Rest of the afternoon off pulled all the garden furniture out of the garden, feeling smug as don't need the paint wooden bench and chair this year. Put together L shaped couch as I dismantled it to get it into the garage.Today had to buy lunch. No food in at home, will do shopping after work. Got toothache now hopefully will go away on its own just had my check up this week.Grateful forFriday and I have someone coming to give me a quote for flooring for my bathroom hopefully tonight. My dd and her boyfriend have got another 4 weeks work in Canada, think their work permit will be up by then and she may return home.A day to myself tomorrow, plan to look at few clothes shops. Essential spend only, need jeans and trainers.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/227

Today is the day for going to the local fruit and veg store to stock up on salad and other veggie things. So much fresher than the supermarket.
Also, I've been a lot a back pain recently. I think it's posture related. Yesterday was horrendous. Pain killers and creams didn't hep so I've ordered a support cushion for the sofa and a pillow for during the night. Lets hope it works.
Been walking a little.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Today I am grateful for the opportunity to visit my mum, for good weather while I waited outside for my 30 mins, for knowing the trains and what to look out for, for dd coming to meet me off the bus home, for dh taking dd to the optician to get her glasses nosepad mended.

NSD 12. Set more seeds off. Added more books to the charity shop pile. Did some outdoor work. Managed to wrestle the big heavy wool quilt onto the line to freshen up. Several small boxes and a large bag of paper to the recycling bin, all the remaining contents (mainly seeds) condensed into one box. The boxes were very tough and a good size (8 or 9 inches square), probably would have been good drawer dividers/ stuff sorters but trying not to think like that and just get stuff out of the house.
Mum phoned her cousin (a retired carpenter) to ask him to come round to help with 'whatever it is you are trying to do'. He came round about an hour and a half later. He's going to make me some stronger raised beds from decking boards (my suggestion, that is how I organised the 'big' house, building a small wall about 18" in from the fence) about 4' x 2' (I should be able to move those into position by myself, even if I have to move one end and then the other). Best of all, he has volunteered his grandson to come and do the remaining digging and other heavy labouring I might need. The prototype will be two decking boards high but I might have some 3 decking boards high as well.
Now I could see this as a defeat. So far I've done everything myself but there is so much else I want to be getting on with (all this digging/ painting/ building should have been done in autumn but mum thwarted all my attempts) and having someone younger and fitter to do the heavy stuff will speed things up considerably. Mum's cousin is just the sort of workman I like. He listened to my plans, we both suggested options and came up with a something that would work. His grandson is helping him next weekend, digging up his lawn, doing some flagging and filling a skip. The grandson has a low paid SM job and does these jobs to earn extra cash. The thought of just setting up beds and other containers and someone else shovelling soil into them and humping stuff around the yard is just wonderful.
Moved a large pot for mum, planted some bulbs (mum had them indoors but they didn't have enough room), made tea (bacon, mashed potato and beans) and am now resting.
Grateful for a quick, easy and filling tea, lemon cake, getting and accepting help (still struggle with this but prepared to give in gracefully on this occasion). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Hi
NSD #8 achieved yesterday. Spent a little amount of money today as posted presents to sis and friend & bought DD2 a pretty softback notebook for uni. Panicked yesterday as had phone call from hairdressers (thought they were going to cancel or postpone appointment but wanted to arrange patch test - phew!) So i walked to the PO today then to the hairdressers. Was lovely to have a walk after work and I went the scenic route home.
At lunchtime today i called round to see another friend who has a birthday (i've had 4 friends/family birthdays in the past 8 days!) & we sat in the garden and had a quick chat.
Gratitudes - being able to sit in the garden with my friend and chat; good catch up with boss on Teams; online literature group this evening
Nite all

@mothernerd it is not a weakness for a General to command an army. Take the help. and maybe you can get them to make a removable slatted 'lid' for your raised bed so that a bit can be used as a seat when necessary / in case local cats become too interested in it while your seedlings are small.

Thank you for all your supportive words. Well done @mothernerd on getting some help.
Had a bit of a blip yesterday, do didn't feel up to posting. Had spoken to hubby the night before & the Dr had told him that his kidneys were breaking down and poisoning the rest of his body. They are now a small percentage of the size they should be. He got a bit upset, but I held it together until afterwards. Spoke to hubby at length yesterday, he's finally managed to sleep & was quite cheerful. He had a scan & a small op to insert a permanent dialysis tube into his chest. He seemed more accepting about things & now knows he'll need dialysis for the rest of his life. Dr's are deciding on next course of action/treatment.
Like some of you, I received the £500 in my account. I've bitten the bullet & asked a friend to give us a quote & carry out replacing our garage roof. It's been needing doing for a couple of years now & thought if someone else did it, it would be less pressure /worry for my husband.
Think I'm on nsd#8/9
Grateful for hubby being more positive, beautiful bunches of flowers, neighbours that comfort you when you're upset, helpful son's & the song Tennessee WhiskeyUse it up, wear it out
