I just spoke with hsbc and they told me when you resubmit info your diarised for a week! So they don’t look at it for another week!!!!
This is so awful.. worse than government agencies. Didn't they tell you they will look at your straight away yesterday though?

@666666 they did and I said that to her. I told them I’m fed up with their lies about the process. Honestly thinking of applying elsewhere because their becoming a joke

i thought they would be following the timescales on the intermediaries website for applications in progress? It says assessing supporting documents is 4 working days and reviewing application amendment forms 6 working days.

I found this on HSBC intermediaries timeline I'm right on the 11th working day  :(
  • @666666 We are day 10!
Phoned for an update today and hsbc are reviewing the additional documents and the valuation which was done on Tuesday still hasn’t been sent in. Broker said he will be back in touch as soon as he hears anything. But I will be phoning tomorrow
  • We had searched mortgages via Habito, London & Country and a 'real' broker. Found the HSBC one, read up on people's reviews and decided to go with applying to HSBC directly but to book a mortgage appointment too which was luckily available the next day. So our timeline overall is:

    22 Jan 2022 first viewing
    26 Jan 2022 second viewing
    01 Feb 2022 offer accepted
07 Feb 2022 mortgage application submitted
08 Feb 2022 mortgage appointment and application routed to underwriter (desktop valuation happened in parallel)
11 Feb 2022 mortgage application status changed ready for offer

now not sure what exactly ready to offer means but fingers crossed
  • I should add we went 1.84% 33 yr term, 5 Yr fixed 85% LTV, in case that makes a difference

@Surreysoon Congrats it looks like they will proceed to offer you a mortgage? That’s really fast! May I know, did you end up using a broker or applied directly to HSBC? I honestly started to think we should have gone directly or via fee paying broker. My broker haven’t been telling me in details what is going on they didn’t even tell me what the result of the valuation was. Asked them a couple of time and everytime I nudge them they just ended up sending me request for extra documents. From my side it looks like they only follow up with HSBC when I nudge.

Start to wonder what is the point of going via broker if it’s just as slow or slower than going direct.
