We're very lucky that we can stay with my mum short term and put things in storage, but its a nightmare! X
I really hope this gets sorted for you. I've just emailed my solicitor again, she never acknowledges the receipt of things which given the problems getting my mortgage in the first place just makes me so nervous! Hoping to hear back Monday now but I will be calling Monday afternoon to see if we have finally cleared the AML checks!
Thank you, its just more waiting at the moment which isn't ideal, but at least we have a backup plan I guess.
Fingers crossed they have good news, I would keep going through EA, mine was so apologetic and could tell she's kind of emotionally involved at this point as we've chatted so much 🤣🙈
I dont think it's kicked in for me yet, as moving day isn't til Thursday I'm still holding out hope, and seem very calm, but im not sure why!

My boss popped round yesterday with a bottle of champagne to congratulate me 🤣 he's just had an offer accepted on a house and has been told its 16-18 weeks at the moment 🤪 x

So, the solicitor called at 16:20 saying the sellers solicitor has told them they're not in a position to complete tomorrow🤦‍♀️ from the looks of it the seller has debt against the house that hasn't been cleared, and we have no confirmed timescale 🤪🙃🤯
I've spent the last 3 hours trying not to cry!
I would urge EVERYONE to push for exchange before completion because this is hell!
This is just the absolute last thing that anyone wants…I feel for you I really do!
How does anyone forget they owe money on their house?🙈
I really hope it gets sorted this week for you…I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Exactly! I honestly don't think you forget? It must be fairly substantial for it to be against the house.
I'm trying to see myself as lucky as I fairly sure if it'd gone through the debt would remain against the house I bought!
Just a living nightmare surrounded by boxes and not knowing where they're going to end up! X

After harassing my solicitor on a daily business and my vendors EA doing the same (they have been brilliant) we finally got contracts and deeds through today - so I'll print them off and see if we can't get this party started!!

Hopefully it all goes quickly from this point

We signed and sent back our contracts 2 weeks ago 🙃 the last update I had was 6 enquiries outstanding (EA said they had been answered, solicitor says they haven't. EA is on holiday until 27th.) And AML checks were being done, which has been a headache all of its own. She did say once that was complete she would request our deposit. Going to call in morning for an update but hoping to be able to set dates this week.

Nope, seems to be getting worse, vendor and her solicitor have been ignoring numerous calls from both solicitor and EA. Feels worse that the vendor isn't contactable. I was really hoping we'd get an update today, but Thursday is looking less and less likely. Can't fault my solicitor or EA though, just exceptionally frustrating!

Fingers crossed for a good update for you tomorrow!! X

Ah it's just neverending queries isn't it? All our searches and queries are back which has prompted the contract being released (in defence of my solicitor he is grumpy but methodical)

I'm cautiously continuing to pack up boxes and hope for the best!

Tiny update - vendors solicitor has made contact with EA advising that they're chasing the lender, but no expected timescale.

I would be packing, have they mentioned a suggested date at all?
