Aldermore - Process

So, the solicitor called at 16:20 saying the sellers solicitor has told them they're not in a position to complete tomorrow🤦‍♀️ from the looks of it the seller has debt against the house that hasn't been cleared, and we have no confirmed timescale 🤪🙃🤯 
I've spent the last 3 hours trying not to cry!
I would urge EVERYONE to push for exchange before completion because this is hell!

Well thats our offer just through! Yesterday was a flurry of activity with our broker escalating within Aldermore, which seemed to be successful as the offer landed at 10am. Such a relief!
27/05 - Application sent
08/06 - Ask for additional information
14/06 - Ask for additional information
16/06 - Formal escalation as family will be homeless mid July!
17/06 - Offer through
We're in Scotland so home report was available instead of needing a valuation as part of this process.

@JMcc123 Oh my gosh that's awful! You must be so angry. Surely they shouldn't even have been allowed to get this far with a secured debt that can't be cleared?? That's insane! I'm so sorry!

Solicitor advised to chase the EA as vendors solicitor is now now responding, so EA has left messages and emailed and also called the seller, the seller said she got a message today saying it may be Monday but with no explanation, so she is also chasing.
My solicitor can't see everything but said it looks like that's what it is 🤦‍♀️
Just really hoping for some good news tomorrow.
I'm in total shock, im just going to call EA and solicitors on repeat tomorrow 
My broker wanted me to use their solicitor, but as vendor was I couldn't, so ive also got him chasing them up on it.

My mortgage offer expires on Tuesday 🙃🙃🙃

Broker, EA and solicitor have all been on first thing this morning. Vendors solicitor is on Annual Leave today, which doesn't get!
Apparently the vendor forgot she had debt against the house 🤦‍♀️ they've just sent the AN1 application off, which is basically the debtor giving consent that the vendor can sell and outstanding can be paid upon completion, but vendors solicitor's assistant has emailed to say she cannot confirm whether it will happen by 24th (moving date) so currently researching storage units costs as a short term fix and moving in with mum.
Nightmare.
Broker has been fab and already spoken with aldermore about extension on offer, they just need my most recent wage slip as confirmation my circumstances haven't changed and will extend.
Can't actually believe this is happening! X

Goodness what a mistake the vendor has made, with real implications to you. Thats a total nightmare!

We're very lucky that we can stay with my mum short term and put things in storage, but its a nightmare! X

Oh god that all sounds like such a mess. Your broker does sound fantastic. 

Meanwhile Aldermore have had our application 2 weeks and we have heard nothing! I submitted more up to date LISA certificates 7 days in so granted another 7 days to be looked at but still nothing! Will have to get my broker to chase on Monday!

I really hope this gets sorted for you. I've just emailed my solicitor again, she never acknowledges the receipt of things which given the problems getting my mortgage in the first place just makes me so nervous! Hoping to hear back Monday now but I will be calling Monday afternoon to see if we have finally cleared the AML checks!
