What is it with people not responding to emails?! Would it be super irritating of me to call one of the solicitor assistant people for an update? I know there's been a bank holiday but jeez I sent that email last week 😳 I double checked the conditions on my offer, they just want confirmation that my deposit came from equity from the solicitor. Lord knows why I sent them the proof 🤣
I would chase, my solicitors have been great, I've had a response within like 2 hours each time I've pestered (apart from when the assistant was off)

I don't have an email for the assistants, only the main solicitor. I might just copy and paste last weeks email in case it was missed. And ask if there's an email for the assistant people 🤣

I would just forward the email and ask them to confirm receipt as you've been having intermittent issues with your emails, also is there an alternative email address you should be contacting for queries :) x

Yeah I've done that lol also got an immediate response from ea, we can go Sunday. Typically my daughter will be at her dad's so I've promised to take photos of her room 🤣

Oh no way!! That is typical isn't it!! How old is she? Could you video call while you're there?

It's actually really weird wondering round a house that's going to be yours, but isn't yet - must be so weird for the vendors too! x

By the sounds of it the vendor is showing us round so it'll be a great opportunity for us to ask a few questions that we have. We want to convert the integral garage to make a 5th bedroom with an en suite for my teenager so I really want to know if there's any restrictions on that from previous planning permission for the extension it had. It'll scupper our plans if there is anything lol there's only one bathroom so getting a second one is a must for us, with 7 people living there 🤣 our other idea is to section the rather large bathroom into a smaller bathroom, then a shower room with a toilet. Hopefully we can do both!

I find my actual Solicitor incredibly elusive but his 'Team' are brilliant, very friendly and reassuring and able to clearly explain the processes and answer any questions..
Not sure what it's like where you are but the postal system up here at the moment is horrendous, I'm getting postal updates through almost 3 weeks after they were sent.

I'm not getting any updates from solicitor at all. We have an online portal where we can track progress but that doesn't offer any explanation and doesn't match what I was told, ie it says all searches complete and solicitor told me last week (in the only email I've recieved from them since they were instructed in feb) that one search is outstanding. I'm going to call the assistant tomorrow as I don't have email contacts for them. Post here is pretty good, got my mortgage offer the day after it was issued haha so don't think that's an issue here.

Apart from the initial quote sent over, that is all i've had from my actual solicitor, everything else has been done by his assistant, who is lovely and really quick with responses.
I have no portal, just keep pestering the assistant, my post is okay, we don't get it every day, but 3 times a week. I don't think I would've mentally r emotionally been able to go through this process without being able to pester by email :') x
