So much waiting! Definitely call if you don't get a response. One of my friends moved in January and he really struggled to make contact with the solicitors, it dragged out as he was waiting for responses, so just started calling once a week which seemed to speed things up, he thinks they got sick of his voice :') xCLJ2986 said:Oh god it does. They started the process on 1st April according to my tracker, that's when they sent off for searches. It's says contract pack recieved 15th April, enquiries sent to seller 15th April, searches back 23rd April. Although apparently one is outstanding! Why is this process so long 🤣🤣🤣0 -
Our latest documents went in last Friday but our broker doesn't expect to hear anything now until next week.
Hopefully when we do hear it'll be that the valuation has been instructed, the waiting is soul destroying!0 -
My broker said that all the time, they got updates a lot sooner though. I found if I sent them an email asking there usually was something! I emailed them on the Tuesday asking if anything more was required, she said it would be Friday before they knew anymore, my offer was issued the next day 🤣srh88 said:Our latest documents went in last Friday but our broker doesn't expect to hear anything now until next week.

So no response from solicitor, I want to call them for an update tomorrow but unsure of what to say lol! Do I literally just ask what's going on?1 -
I do hope so! I was very surprised that they requested the extra info/docs and on the same day instructed the valuation!mandycurl said:
This sounds really positive!👍🏻 I think you’re home and dry now they’ve instructed valuation!👍🏻Reddington85 said:I may as well do my timeline too!
DIP - 1/4 - Referred and approved 2/4
Offer accepted - 3/4 - then gazumped and higher offer accepted 4/4
Mortgage appointment and review with broker on 12/4 - Aldermore confirm higher offer doesen't need re-run of DIP. Due to work commitments we had no free time to catch out broker hence the long wait between offer and application going in.
Full application in 17/4
Additional documents requested - 22/4 (direct debit mandate which tbh was my fault!)
Additional documents requested 30/4 (payslip from new job)
Valuation instructed 30/4
Waiting on valuation now0 -
My broker was the same, I chased where we were up to and he instantly responded saying it's been sent for valuation, then I chased about when to/whether I would be receiving an offer, and he said he had just received my mortgage offer through, definitely worth prompting them every so often!CLJ2986 said:

I would, there is no harm in asking for an update

I've just had a response. She said 14th June does sound achievable but she can't advise handing in our rental notice as it's not guaranteed, she's waiting on enquiries and the whole chain might not agree... excuse me? What chain? There isn't meant to be a chain!0

OMG, what chain?! Have you responded asking that?CLJ2986 said:I've just had a response. Throughout the past two months you've been under the impression of no chain!
I emailed the EA to find out if the 11th June sounds suitable to exchange for the vendor, as they seem to be better at communicating between us than the solicitors, at least if I know she's happy to aim for that date, and I am then it should be fine providing no delays with solicitors?0 -
My initial reaction was panic! I'm hoping she literally just means us and the vendors... I was going to email the EA immediately but I'm going to view it Sunday with the vendors there so I'll be asking them directly lol I rechecked the listing and it clearly states available with no onward chain. I'm thinking even if we don't hand in our rental notice we will pay rent on the 4th (due 15th, I pay early) then assuming a mid June completion our first mortgage payment wouldn't be till the 1st July anyway so we will just have ages to move and thoroughly clean the rental out. Although in my contract it states we can't leave it vacant for more than 3 weeks, anyone know if I can hand notice on 14th June having paid my full month's rent in advance, then give them an earlier date, say 1st July to hand in the keys??0

Just got back from seeing the new house! As in love with it as before, and I got to take my eldest 🥰 spoke to our vendor, he said he has 2 forms left to take to his solicitor tomorrow, so hopefully we will be able to exchange and complete pretty soon! Apparently the estate agent told him Friday that it would be 4 weeks max!0
