I have had an e-mail message from 1p Mobile. They say the changes only apply to customers who joined them before 1st January 2021.My name removed."The change in terms is only for customers who joined 1pMobile before 1 January 2021 and received the notification. We have seen the misrepresentations on review sites etc and are taking action. We look forward to you staying with us on the service you signed up to. Penny."It's odd that they don't have that message on their website, it could save any confusion.I wonder if the e-mail they are sending to affected customers has the 1st Jan. 2021 notification?I don't have much credit and because of the "misrepresenations" obtained a PAC and signed up elsewhere!

Min top -up is £2.50 pm and if you don't use that much they take the balance from your credit if you have any.
I will have to have another look at the email but if you google 1pmobile on trustpilot it does not look good.
They don't mention whether that applies to the auto renew or I have to end that and pay manually? Time to read the T&C's either way I'm not happy

So does that mean people who signup today, won't have to pay a minimum monthly fee?

Then again 1penny mobile can just change the t&c's for users who joined from 1/01/2021 to the same as those who joined befor the start of 2021.
If 1penny can do this to their long standing users then they can do what they want.0 -

So does that mean people who signup today, won't have to pay a minimum monthly fee?Going by the e-mail I received, yes. Just the initial £10 payment which doesn't expire but a further £10 top up is needed after 120 days. Why not contact them and ask? From past experience there has been a reply fairly quickly. As Boohoo writes, they are perfectly entitled to apply the change to all customers. Maybe they will if the number of people leaving is not too excesive and within their beancounters' estimate.0 -
I have still found this to be the best value for how I use my phone but I need to top up and the site has been down for days. I cannot find any information online but wondered if pennymobile had gone bust or been hacked or just a broken server.0

The site seems to be working OK for me.

That's on second SIM for data and most outgoing.
Main number is on O2 classic 321 rates.
RWG would be better as a main number but want to keep the legacy O2 classic active.0
