Penny Mobile

Just a shout out for 1p mobile as good money saving payg tip.  The tariff is only 1p a text, 1p a minute calls, 1p a mb data. All you are committed to is £10 every 4 months i.e. 12 quid a year.  They run on EE network.
I have no affiliation with 1p mobile and been with them 3 years without a hitch. Ideal for a low user.   https://www.1pmobile.com/

    Well spotted Martin  ;)
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
  • I've just ordered a 1pMobile SIM for a van tracker. I think the tracker will use only about 30mb a month of data meaning my expense floor is the £10 every 120days (or £2.50 a month/£30 a year). I will monitor the data usage over the first 120days and I am well covered with the £10 initial credit even if data use is 8x more than the 30mb.
If after 120days the usage is only 30mb a month what is the best SIM to go to? Can any other SIM get under £2.50 a month?
    Thx
PS network has to be 2G, so for example any 3 SIMs are no good (that's what I use in my family's handsets).

    I've just ordered the sim.
I got a Lebara Sim last year on the 2Gb plan, when my broadband went down last week, I put the sim in and set up a hotspot.
It seemed to work fine for about five minutes, then stopped working. It also wouldn't let me make a call to plusnet.
When the Broadband started working again, I got on to Lebara chat and they said I had I had dropped off the plan, and was on PAYG rates, at 9p per Mb, so on the hotspot, they let it run up the the credit limit £10, and then cut me off!
    110Mb @9p !
I was on the plan for months and months, I never used it, all I wanted it for was as a stand by if my Broadband went down!
Fed up, really really fed up with the telecoms industry, scammer and sharks, all of them.

I ordered a sim yesterday from 1p mobile.
The sim came this morning and I have followed the instructions to activate the sim.
It has still not been activated after 6 hours  and when I try to change my online account password it just says its updating, and it just gets stuck.
I'm beginning to regret ordering the sim.

Just got the welcome email from 1p Mobile.
On the Lebara Plans, be careful what you alter on the dashboard thing, as far as I can tell, if you change any of the setting regarding the money, they drop you off the plan.
I thought I had 2Gb of data for the month, BUT, if I had used 2Gb on the PAYG rate of 9p times 2000mb...
    That's 180 quid!
Add VAT around £200 pounds thank you sir, we'll take it from your bank account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My account with 1p mobile is now working OK.
It must have been down yesterday morning when I tried to register my sim and change password etc.
Everything is working fine now. Just have to wait until Tuesday for my old number to transfer over.
