I am very tired and cold I hate winter

I have been very good with my ebay listing this week but I must remember to keep it up. I will look at the mountain of boxes everyday to inspire me!

I decided that slice the pie wasn't as prolific as I thought so I am only going to do it while having my breakfast so I have changed my target to £10 per month and that will still be a nice sum by Christmas.

I have also meal planned for next week and am keeping spending to a minimum. Also, I have a lucky dip on the Euro millions for tomorrow so fingers crossed the £95 million will be mine!!

I will be checking my euro millions next and maybe I won't have to go in :rotfl: So if I am not on here for a while I have won and got the next plane to somewhere warm :rotfl:

I will be good today :money:

As I am on day off I need to do a lot of ebay listing to move some of these boxes and also make me some monies!! I must be disciplined though and actuallydo something as apposed to just writing on here that I will then spening hours on facebook

Also, thought that I was getting 2 months free of council tax payments and when I checked my online banking have had it taken out this month, which I have not budgeted for  Tried calling council tax people but snooty woman on switch board said there was a 12 minute wait and I should call back. So in the meantime I will check my bank statements and see which month it actually started.

I am also taking advantage of the nice weather and doing my washing and line drying it as I am sure it will not last long!! It is also good for keeping the heating off when the sun is glaring in through window! But when sun goes down it does become very cold so I have extra layers at the ready!!

hmmm..... you're trying to save a couple of pounds here & there by turning down the heating & not shaving your legs!

but you're spending over £1k on a holiday to Cyprus & £250 to Centreparcs!
(& thats excluding spending money which wil be another £600-£700?) so £2k in total.

IMO, i think that you shoud stop spending on the big items (spice girls tickets, holidays) and instead allow yourself more heating & the little things in life - the things that make your day to day easier.

Otherwise you'll be miserable every day, and whilst a holiday is nice whilst your there, it fades all too quickly.

hope you don't take this the wrong way, just my thoughts from what i've read.

also, if you can both be flexible with time off from work, book your holidays last minute through the internet, it'll be cheaper than in a travel agents.

good luck to your debt free challenge...

I thought that I would book Center Parcs now while they have a promotion on and before all the cheap deals go. We had originally been looking at a Comfort accomodation which was £229 for mid week but they had all gone so we found an executive appartment for £234.50, which would be saving us £100.50, and is better accomodation. As it is only £5.50 we thought we would book now incase they are got booked too. Anyway, we were going to pay the deposit of £75 and then budget and save for the rest, now this is the part where I am an idiot!! I was on phone to OH at the time of booking and didn't change payment to deposit only and we have now paid full amount  . Will have to use some of the Cyprus money to pay for this so will really have to tighten our belts to make sure we have enough money for Cyprus in June!!

I am on a well deserved day off and am so glad that the sun is out :j

I am very tired from all the extra hours I have been doing and I am really hating work at the moment but I just need to look forward to payday and think how happy I will be with the extra money.

I will do some ebay listing today and make a dent in the boxes and more importantly make some extra money :A

I got my insurance renewal yesterday and it has gone up by £3.74 per month which is £44.88 over the year  So I have been online and got a quote that is even cheaper than I am paying now and still includes has everything that my current policy has.

I will be adding a new SOA soon when my new council tax and water bill comes in. Also, my OH has had a pay rise and I am picking up more hours at work so hopefully we can pay more off my debt each month. :T

  • Heya saver03, sounds like you're determined to cut back like me, I'm on a £50 a week budget for food, petrol, spends etc and it's really helping to have a target to stick to.

Just reading your thread I thought I'd give some center parcs advice - I've been going every year since my lad was small but am missing this year to pay off the cc's :(

I'd definately say take a huge box in the boot of your car full of the essentials you forget you need, namely:

    washing up liquid/sponge
    toilet roll
    kitchen roll
    butter/marg
    bread
    jams etc
    milk
    cheese
    tea bags/coffee/sugar
    tea towels

you get the jist! there is a smallish supermarket in most of them (we go to the oasis one in the lakes) but they are extremely overpriced and only sell the major brands, so there's no 'value' option and you're stuck paying over a quid for washing up liquid etc. We usually take some breakfast stuff such as sausages/bacon/eggs etc to have a big brunch one morning before heading out and occasionally pack a picnic too.

I have had such a bad day at work and I came so close to just walking out  I really didn't care how I was meant to pay for anything I just couldn't stand it anymore. I was convinced we would be able to manage but we would have to cut back A LOT!!!

I am going to start looking around for a new job and hopefully it will pay more and not make me want to kill someone!!

I am going to do some ebaying tonight so I can make more money, pay off debts sooner and then tell them to stick it!

Work is still crap but not as bad as it has been so that is a small plus. Still want a new job and a better paid one would be very nice.

On a plus note I joined cyberslotz through pigsback so I could get 2000 piggy points and I took advantage of their match your deposit offer and I managed to win £50 :j To be on the safe side I withdrew it immediately as I knew that my winning streak would not last forever!

I am doing some ebaying tonight and hopefully I will be quids in when my auctions finish.

I also changed my mobile tariff and is now £20 a month cheaper and that is a saving of £20, let's just hope I can stick within my fewer texts and minutes.
